I'd be more specific than that. I'd attribute it to being the more of my defenders in defence, the greater success level.
Case in point is yourself. In stint one you had some of my players in defence. Stint two you didn't. Conclusive proof!
More proof - with the main NT, every game that at least 2 of my players involved in (past or present), England did not lose in this world cup. The game lost against Romania there was only one and it led to a loss.
If you need me to make up some more amazing stats let me know ;)

Oi let me have my glory...for the first time one of my players scored a hattrick at the U21 - OK?
I don't think any of my home grown players have ever scored for England :(

Well, I did and my first impression is that you did it well, the scotsmen were slightly better team, but I think in second half - it's your match! (that Tomko-guy lack some pace [7] and techique [8] at the moment but he is still young and will be very valuable in the future).
Unfortunately my prediction sucked and now I will probably have all fishing whiskymakers from up north (from your side) at my back :(

I thought the game looked more like a 7-2 to us some of the amazing shots were saved unfortunatly but Summerfields early deadly hard hitting from 'down town' strikes, one in the 1st minute! and by the 5th minutes had the game almost won already :)
The unfortunate 4 to miss out on a cap were:
Ensor (mid - 19) & Anyan (Striker - 19) were both injured. Harsnett (20 - striker) & Woolland (mid - 20) are not to be forgotton but the rules prevented me from playing a formation that could include them.

haha yes I noticed that, for some days ago my thaughts was that you and I was in a "no-mans-land" - isolated between 49th and 52nd places, but obviously a lot of things can happen :)
Big looser yesterday was Israel by a lost 0-4 vs Belarus (ranked 80th today)
Swedens last win - 11-0 - vs Tunis only gave us 7 ranking points so we need both a big win + a Canada lose if I shall pass Qstarw (THIS week ;))

sviktorov has come up with the new oSokker layouts for old and new theme depending on which you are using...the links you can find on this Canadian (ha ha) thread :P
I recommend you install the new versions if you want to update your players easier in the NTDB!

Sorry i don't use oSokker (is there anywhere i can work out how to use it? is it for plus users? i have'nt a clue nor has my laptop) & don't no what you mean by 'sticky thread' :(
I do all the updating of the database on the old version.

If you use o'sokker, when you go to players (NT page) you see skills of all 40 players and is more easy to you to choose best player for match.
I felt we did enough to win all 3 of our last U21 'Group N' matches without our best mid with about 4 or 5 x 21yo's , not bad don't you think?
Our keeper has thrown it away 3 times in those games, & luck was against us in all 3 games but i am more than happy with our progress it's clearly evident if you have watched any of the games.
I think we will get 1 draw and 2 wins or with a 'bit of luck' all 3 wins with my remaining games, then we will start to beat alot of teams next season as we will have better players :)
