Subject: 13/1 matches

Today the new season kicks off! Surely must be a few on here who feels some excitement? First few games are often crucial whether one intend to push for league victory or in for a struggle. Basingstoke are facing their main contender for the norwegian premier and I think it will be hard. I`m in need of both a new shot stopper and all-round midfielder to defend the title. But has been hard to recruit those players, prices always seems to be over the roof when I`m looking for new players.

I've got Herbs who shocked a few and sneaked 3rd last time out.

I find him really hard to play, but I'm in London all day today at The Masters so I hope my "new tactic" that I have "definitely just made" works a treat ;)

I have AFC Bramford Lane. Missing one of my key midfielders, however unlike the last game I have actually set my lineup.

I am playing against one of the few teams today that I have a realistic chance of beating so hopefully I can get my campaign off to a winning start. I'm actually nervously excited for this one :-) Nothing like a promotion to get the emotions running at the start of a new season as your never quite sure how you will get on!

Congrats on winning your opening match of the new season :-) I really can't wait for my match to get going now. Hopefully, I still feel upbeat after it's all over.

today is important match for me, if i win ill go for the league, if i lose or draw, i'm going to sell some of my older trainees and get some younger 'better' ones in.

Southend FC for me. I finished below them last season and struggled against them so barometer of whether I have improved.

I am playing last season league winners and trying out something new :)) I hope I wont regret this new tactic...or the tactical swap that I am doing later in the game :))...cant w8 for it...hope it will be fun...

Thanks tcd, today was like birthday & christmas at the same time for a kid. Sweet with a comfortable win against tough opposition in the first game.

2-3 minutes and you`re game is on, don`t worry too much..

I did a "sneak peak" looking at the prem statistics to work out whether I'd won or lost without bothering to watch the match. I thought I had lost 4-3. Turns out AFC scored an own goal so won 4-3 instead :)

After being 2 nil down, we came back to 2-2. Then, when they were leading 3-2, my forward had a 1on1 with their keeper. Might have been a different outcome if he had tucked it away but it wasn't meant to be.

Looking at the ratings of all the matches in my league. My team is the worst team in the division by quite a distance so if we can somehow not finish bottom we would have done well.

Your team are all young - so you'll improve a lot through the season.

Also if you are trying to stay up, then don't be scared to throw in the odd stamina training or two during the season if your team stamina is really really horrible....
