Subject: Training

Hi folks

I've read the rules, and need some clarification/confirmation on a few points to do with training.

Stamina and Pace seem quite straightforward; setting the DEF/MID/ATT box has no bearing on these.

Passing/playmaking. I've included these two together as the rules for playmaking contain the words "The training of playmaking is similar to that of passing.". I'm a little confused by these two. Passing is most effectively trained by the midfielders (MID), the remaining positions train slower. If you want to enhance training effect for other positions, you can do so. However, it will result in decreasing the training effectiveness for the midfielders. So, if you set the box to MID, the MIDs get the best training in your team. I get that bit. I'm unsure of, however, what happens if you set it to DEF. Do the DEFs get the same amount of training that the MIDs would have gotten? Or is it slightly less?

Striker training also seems straightforward, but maybe not. Is the DEF/MID/ATT box an irrelevance in this training regime?

Defender/technique training seem the easiest (after pace/stamina) in that you can choose which of your groups of players receive the training by the selection of the MID/DEF box. I assume ATTs get the same amount of training per person as a MID or DEF, but the fact there can only be six a week trained compared to ten makes this a pointless choice.

And finally keeping. Who cares, right?

EDIT:
A precis:
Stamina/pace/striker - DEF/MID/ATT box irrelevant
defender/tech - choosing DEF/MID as appropriate to the team's needs during the week
passing/playmaking - box does something, but not sure what. Choice of MID in drop down is probably best.

Hello,

Yes, Stamina pace irrelevant as they train all. Stamina is the "emergency backup" training also if you balls up your formation (e.g. play 6 MIDS)

If you train keeper then set to GK.

I think that Defender, Tech, Pass, Playmaking - can train MID or DEF depending which you set. However I have only ever trained players set as MID so cannot 100% guarantee.

Striker - ATT. If you train others it trains slower. i.e. if you do striker training set to MID you can train 5 but at half speed at best.

I think!

Training in playmaking :

To MID: (100%)
To DEF (50% for both the MID-DEF)
To ATT / GK (less than 100%, a value unclear)

Just adding to that, stamina trains all irrespective if they play or not. Pace trains only those that played.

Also worth noting that if a player plays 90 minutes set as def, and then 1 minute set as mid when training pace, only that 1 minute as mid will count for their training even though all players that play get the training.

That much was clear from the rules, mr gibbage, thanks. Were they translated using babelfish or what?

Edit: I sounded narky when I wasn't. Still not sure I've got the right tone.

Most of the rule translating was done from Poglish years ago by me and fman "back in the day". However, we didn't really fully understand the game at the time, and bits have been tacked on by others without them ever really being properly tidied up as they should be.

thems were the days.....reading the "poglish" rules, and firstly trying to work out (guess sometimes!) what they were meaning to say, posting to various people such as the devs or key polish mods and then finally translating.

reminds me of sokkerhelp.org.....
