Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

why is playmaker important for strikers
2007-11-13 21:42:48
I didn't think you were putting me down..

I thought maybe poor tech would be adequate for Div 4.

At worst I'll top up his sta and add some pace. I could always train tech after sta as team is badly lacking in it.

IMHO it is not important at all.

My theory is that playmaking without passing (or the other way) is worthless.
I also believe that PM for defenders is quite worthless. But thats only my opinion, rare opinion.

believe me if you have adequate pace or average tech as long as you have solid striker and an weak defender or average you are fine,
here is my top striker and top goal scorer of my league:
Jonas Schartz, age: 25
value: 67 950 £, wage: 660 £
club: Legends UTD FC, country: Lëtzebuerg
divine form, good tactical discipline

excellent stamina, tragic keeper
weak pace, unsatisfactory defender
solid technique, tragic playmaker
tragic passing, very good striker

No pace but he can go through players and score

but your striker is alright because his pace comes in handy, especially when he is on form and also his finishing skill and when he gets the ball he will actually run fast with it so slow defenders cannot catch him

i dont care about PM for defenders but people make a big deal on playmaking for strikers and i wondered why whats all the fuss about
2007-11-13 21:50:15
Are you not getting pm confused with defending?
2007-11-13 21:50:21
thats what i thought

he compliments my other striker

Filip Burchacki , age 20
value: 45 150 £, wage: 735 £
weak form

weak stamina,
adequate pace,
average technique,
very good passing,
hopeless keeper
weak defender
hopeless playmaker
solid striker

who has better tech

now your player is worthless, he woulndt go through players if you played human-controlled teams. You can buy excellent defenders for 10-20k pounds, and your striker would never pass them...

which player?... WilyJackal?
2007-11-13 21:52:38
plus his form is not helping him, i rather have Giggs
2007-11-13 21:53:28
IMO your player is way better than Kens.

maybe not better but much more useful.

lets hope goals prove that fact

You will find that in lower divisions that pacey striker without technique will score more goals than a striker with low pace and solid technique imo anyway.

In IV my striker trainees had low technique as I had not trained it, but had v good striking average over the 3 strikers, and excellent pace average.

Their average technique back then was probably weak. They scored for fun in IV as they got to the balls quicker than the defenders.

It also depends on the rest of your side, because if you have good passing mids then they can lay the strikers goals on a plate. ;)

2007-11-13 21:55:43
but... mmm. to be honest, I forgot that you need quite nice passes to make things right.
2007-11-13 21:56:34
What is his record then?
