Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2007-12-07 13:45:37
mate..it's not so bargain..maybe a bit but seems as the right price for me and not a B.. still, he's not a 1st team player..only for small teams he can be 1st team and for them it's the right price
2007-12-07 13:49:03
I thought I'd paid a little over, but jpk seems to think I've been bent over. :)
2007-12-07 14:30:30
Any thoughts? Paid £500 000, 4.something talent.
I usually overpay just because I pretty much only play from work and have to make sure I get players when I see they are available..

Herwig Martic, age: 17
value: 44 850 £, wage: 630 £
club: Jotun ISK, country: België
very good form, unsatisfactory tactical discipline

hopeless stamina, hopeless keeper
solid pace, average defender
average technique, average playmaker
adequate passing, good striker
2007-12-07 14:31:07
i think thats a good deal
2007-12-07 14:32:29
definitely, you could train him in anything, i'm guessing striker / tech / pace will be your choice though ?
2007-12-07 14:33:01
you sure got a taste for the Belgians, i think its a bargain
2007-12-07 14:33:41
Really? I got impatient with the guy bidding against me and went from 400 to 450 to 500, rather than just minimum raising. Probably could have saved some money with a bit more patience.
2007-12-07 14:34:54
no, think about what he will be like at 19 and what he'll be worth then and its a definate bargain
2007-12-07 14:35:26
17 year olds are premium for some reason. There seems to be a suggestion that talented 16 and 17 year olds make for the most likely NT players.
2007-12-07 14:35:39
Definitely tech and pace. I don't think I've ever trained a primary skill in this game - just rely on getting talented young players and a good coaching set up to achieve random pops.
2007-12-07 14:36:48
Until recently I've been the same - I trained technique only for 2 seasons, buying low tech players that were otherwise well-rounded and selling on when they hit excellent. It's an easy way to make money.
2007-12-07 14:38:21
I am very similar but try and buy players low in 2 skills i.e. pace and tech for maximum profit. But I am also on the look out for some current 17tr olds to train in pace and then tech next season.
2007-12-07 14:39:47
interesting, i try to look for mid-level players these days, players that I can train for a season or two rather than 4 or 5. The profit isn't as much, but it's more regular.
2007-12-07 14:39:54
Ah yes, forgot I bought a Belgian off you.... Talented guy too. You might wish you'd kept him when I sell him in two or three seasons...
A genuine hallmarked £2 Bargain.
2007-12-07 14:42:29
I've just been trading my way up to buying decent skill/talent youngsters, rather than fixer-uppers.
I've pretty much been the youngest team in England since I started, only now I'm in III and get decent ratings.
2007-12-07 14:44:24
thats true NCN but the problem is that to compete in our league you need players who get good ratings and therefore need those mid to high level players
