Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

not bragging here but 19.5 average age
2007-12-25 23:15:58
I failed that balancing act this year - they'll be a year better next time
2007-12-25 23:17:33
Well I just noted that after the 17 year old I just bought, mine is now a little lower.

The young squad does cause my reserves to be a bit crud as they are all too young to be of any kind of top ability, but thats ok with me as I just see my reserves as a way to make heaps of money from pace training!!

The thing is Ken, is that its hard to have an average age of anything below 20 and still be able to do well in division II/The premiership as I have to.

I try to keep my squad as young as possible, but in order to be of use in the top divisions, players need to be at least 20+, and if they are 20, they need to be very special.

To generalise, to be in my first XI, the player really needs to be getting marks of around 50 or higher, and not many 19 year olds can!
2007-12-25 23:26:06
so you are trying to be like Arsenal?
2007-12-25 23:28:14
Well, perhaps.

The problem is that currently my reserves are all GREAT trainees and have huge potential, but they are far below the first XI standard. This is an issue as it means I have less strength in depth.

Again, to get this strength in depth I will have to train my reserves to a higher age and therefore get a slightly older squad.

if only loaning was allowed, i would have taken some off your hands
2007-12-25 23:32:35
No offence, but I wouldn't want you too!

I have a much better coach set up than you could afford, so it meas faster pops, especially random pops, so more money when I sell.
