Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2007-12-30 22:21:09
Seems a little expensive, but I have no experience at those prices as my highest transfer ever was only just 100k. lol

If he is talented though and you get some handy randoms then he will certainly make you money over the long term.
2007-12-30 22:23:06
He will be worth that easily in 2 seasons, and lots more after.
2007-12-30 22:24:17
Well he should be fairly talented, his skills suggest he must have been a fairly high level YP.

As usual I plan to train him pretty much until he has random popped in all the mid skills. When I sell age 18 or 19 he should be worth a lot more I would think.
2007-12-30 22:24:49
Thats what I said in the long term. ;)

I am jealous, wish I had 600k to spend. lol
2007-12-30 22:26:11
If he randoms in everything and defence and his pace is a lot higher which of course it will be you should keep him longer term as he will be some player. ;)
2007-12-30 22:26:15
This is the thing. I don't have two quid to rub together.

I would say that it is much easier to buy a trainee to make money when you actually have money to spend in the first place. Market prices fluctuate greatly between certain skills and range of skills.

Can't wait til i generate that sort of income!
2007-12-30 22:28:50
My training is set at the very long term so its going to be a long time until I can spend that sort of money. lol

I have been playing 3 seasons and it will probably be 2 more before I can spend that sort of money.....
2007-12-30 22:32:25
I can't usually justify keeping a player long term.

For example, say by near the end of next season he has popped in pace say 6 times, and popped in the other skills (Random pops)...

Kélcio Comunian, age: 18

weak stamina, tragic keeper
solid pace, excellent defender
good technique, very good playmaker
good passing, unsatisfactory striker

This isn't unfeasible, if he is talented its pretty likely.

I would have to train him till 20 to get the next set of random pops....

Kélcio Comunian, age: 20

good stamina, tragic keeper
brilliant pace, formidable defender
solid technique, excellent playmaker
solid passing, weak striker

Would the extra training actually make me any decent extra increase in sale value?! Enough to make it worth training for another 2 seasons?

Not sure mate as I am as I say rubbish with those sorts of players valuation wise, never had that sort of money, hopefully one day I will though. lol

What would you say the 18 yr old be worth?
2007-12-30 22:41:20
Probably around 3-3.5 million for the 18 year old judging by current prices.

The 20 year old I'm not sure, anyone, it may be slightly earlier in the season than for the 18 year old?

...This is hypothetical by the way, relies on him having good talent, I took a punt on that!
2007-12-30 23:17:27
Are you in need of another pace trainee?

He is quite nice but a bit too weak for me to be honest!

I do the following rule:

Age 17, PM+Passing+Tech+DEF must be 28+
Age 18, PM+Passing+Tech+DEF must be 32+

Higher ages, well its discretionary, but I tend to find 17 year olds most affordable given their training potential.
2007-12-30 23:23:03
Fair enough. This one is mega talented though, and not a lot worse!
2007-12-30 23:24:41
I do agree with that and it makes perfect sense.

The problem is that I can ONLY train pace in my current regime and a player must have the side stats bar pace high enough to be appealing to potential buyers when I have to sell.
2007-12-30 23:30:11
Ah of course, that makes perfect sense too! :o)
2007-12-30 23:32:32
Ye, a player may random pop faster if they have high talent, but they will also pop in pace faster. The only difference is that I will be able to sell at a younger age.

Essentially, if the side skills are not high enough I end up with a sprinter rather than a really sell-able player!!
