divine is insane! im not sure how the tackling work but shadow bought a mid/striker called mass and he has brilliant tech and skips divine defenders challenges.
the market is bare at the moment though.
Kipper is right. I've had a brilliant technique striker for a long time and the only time he consistently goes past people is when their defending is a lot lower than his technique. Avoids tackles from class defenders from behind and sometimes the sides - yes, goes past - no.
Edit: I've just caught up with the rest of the thread now, so I see that's apparently what you were trying to say from the start.

Coupled with pace thats all you need though, a striker with enough tech to keep the ball when tackled from the side is all you need.
And at least magical striker, very good defending, and good or higher passing and playmaking. Also the moon on a stick ;-)

if quick strikers have no tech there pace is useless! as they can't dribble as quick
i dunno now lol i was trying to say that defenders don't always tackle lower tech players! there is always a chance they can skip past them!

I agree, I have 3 players with brilliant+ tech, they cant dribble through high level defenders, I guess anyone outstanding+ in defending can stop high tech players.
Tech isn't all about going past defenders though.
No, but it is a big part about going through defenders.
I think gibbage means "tech does other stuff, too" instead of "more than tech is required to go through DEFs"
