do you intend training pace?

(anyway, wait until the end, there are always poles waiting there around the corner )

for a while, if i get him, i guess. I have other players that would benefit from it.

he has max talent imo.. so it's never bad to have such a player
2008-05-03 10:51:36
i'd say it is the right price for him.
2008-05-03 12:04:25
for the player, or for me ? do i deserve to overpay ? :)

Considering the similar or lower offers I am getting for Coene, who is in my opinion a far better player, I would say you are getting robbed....

Lionel Coene, age: 18
value: 109 650 £, wage: 885 £
club: Phils_hotspurs, country: België
divine form, solid tactical discipline

average stamina, hopeless keeper
good pace, very good defender
excellent technique, good playmaker
very good passing, poor striker

Or all the offers given to me have been trying to rip me off!!

Not sure which!

the final price is always higher than the starting offer, though. in most cases.
2008-05-03 12:16:36
Yep, thats true in most cases.

However, if you don't get some interest in these types of players before you list, and perhaps a nice starting bid as insurance, you can sometimes get utterly ripped off. Sometimes the last minute bid-war you expect just never comes!

270k

I have started spendiing the 3.5 million I got for Gelder and am using to buy already trained players. I needed a striekr to replace him so I thought this guy was alright for 270k. I know his tech is low and he is old yet still. Also he has excellent stamian so is useful immediately.
2008-05-03 12:22:34
I personally would not have spend that much on him, at that age and technique level.

I certainly wouldn't say he is 'already trained'.
2008-05-03 12:25:12
i agree with the doughboy... with that tech and too old to improve i would say robbed
Have to agree with jimmy here, you'd be better off spending a million or so to get a decent replacement for your level.

No harm done though, you can always sell him again for about 200k ?
2008-05-03 12:30:34
I disagree. I think it's a good purchase. A striker with formidable striking and outstanding pace is going to do exactly what vorian brought him for which is keep him up. 270k isn't a bad price either. I bought a similar player ages ago for 400k and although I overpaid at the time he kept me in my division and turned into a really smart buy. What everyone has to remember is not everyone buys players so they can make profit on them in a few seasons.
2008-05-03 12:31:53
Totally, but shouldn't he be aiming to get out of III the other side? With £3.6m in the bank, he could have probably bought an older player with 3x formidable for twice the price...
2008-05-03 12:32:08
Has any seen the ridiculous price of defenders at the moment. I will be lucky to find a 40 rating defender i dont get riped off for b4 the match on the weekend.

Also the reason Gelder hardly ever scored was because he had weak stamina. This basically means unless he gets a good opportunity within the first 10mins he is not going to score. This guy has excellent stamina.

At the moment I am just trying to get enough players to stay up. I am planning on buying more players next year and going for bargains.

Anyway that guy I boguht could be my supporting striker?

Eventually, yes I agree that striker isn't going to spearhead a promotion push. No doubt to get promoted Vorian will be looking to buy a nicer striker to partner him :)
