Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

I do agree ken that watching my team next season will be extremely frustrating though. I'm attempting to use the team as a striker farm for the next season or 2 though, rather than to win anything.

Oh, and the other thing is, I saw a 23 year old (bearing in mind he's nearly 24) go for 3 million + yesterday, his skills ?

magical pace, good technique, magical striker.

I wonder if my bloke could be that good in a couple of seasons ?

What is wrong with the market these days, back in the days things were cheap, not much inflation. Still Magical pace and striker does appeal to managers as some people dont really pay attention to tech. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I've no idea ken, although, and please don't take this the wrong way, but the fact that only you are answering might mean that everyone else is too polite to say how awful this purchase is :)...

It's good that you're not bothered what other people think - I reckon that everyone else has taken one look at that player and gone "god, how much, and for that ?"

I reckon that it is an ok buy, but maybe slightly robbed due to the fact he will be 22 very soon. As far as what you hope is achievable I reckon you may struggle slightly with that, but as usual it will depend on talent and luck with injuries etc.

You may want to take his tech up a bit yourself though as he'd be worth considerably more with formidable tech I would think, but then again I could be spouting Barnacles. ;)

hmm, yep. I'd agree with that assessment I suppose. I could bring his tech up in a season I suppose, but that would mean the magical tech bloke wouldn't get the striker training he needs to get to his potential, maybe I'll sell this one at the end of next season and try to make some money. Decisions, decisions. Y'see, the thing about being mad, is that you can't go mad if you're already mad. I think I've had too much tea today... :)

I did get into a nasty bidding war, I don't like these people who bid and add 2 minutes to the deadline all the time, so I went up in 100k intervals at the end, trouble is, if you do that and the other bloke hangs on, it can get really expensive. Like this did.

Basically I'd like someone to tell me I've been a complete tool and I should stick him back on the market :)...

if you relist him you need to find someone as mad as you! maybe in week 1 when the silly season starts price wise. i have the same dilema (with much lower level players) .... i think if i were to train strikers again i would start with all trainees being around the same age and skills. right now i have 3 with good secondaries but low striker, and 3 with good striker but low secondaries. and a mess when it comes to the balance between tech & pace...argh!

it's a minefield and no mistake ! i've had 3 consecutive "robbed"s in sk international, so that would be an official "robbed" i reckon.

I am in very similar scenario with my strikers...

NCN, i think it is an OK buy...obviously, as you are planning on training striker, it would benefit him to have more tech, but i recently saw a rubbish 21yo striker with excellent striker sell for about £175k, and a better, more rounded younger striker sell for under £100k.

So many people really do love a high striker stat, and like you said, if you can find someone mad enough at the end of it...all good.

They reckon on international his price should be 1.2 million. Oh well.

I may well take a field trip to the sanitariums of Poland to see how many inmates have taken up sokker in that case... Oh, and train a season of tech after a season of striker, instead of the intended 2 seasons of striker. But I can worry about that in August I suppose...

Daft thing is I sold a formid - outstanding - outstanding striker for 1.5 million yesterday. You'd think I'd have realised...

I dont actually think its that bad a buy i like high pace forwards if you can sneak a couple of weeks of tech in he could be really good.

Thats what I said, basically with formidable tech and better striker you would make money easily imo.

@ Dylanos, I have the same problem too, my striker trainees are all different levels. I have two 18 yr olds with Brilliant tech but need to continue tech for a bit for my other trainees which is a pain as the 18 yr olds could do with both pace and striker.......
