Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2008-06-22 16:11:07
Totally robbed, an obscene price... ...but only because I can't afford his left leg right now :)

Will you actively train him or just look for random pops?
2008-06-22 16:16:03
He was bought only with a season of pace training in mind...it is unlikely he will be trained after that. If i'm very lucky he might get to incredible in that time but i doubt it.

if he randoms in striker and tech then you'll mae a small profit next season.
2008-06-22 20:32:24
That's cool, i don't mind if i've paid a little over, as he is just the type of player i've been looking for...i've even got enough left for a half decent midfielder...might need one considering i've sold both my wingers :-O

I think he'll help you alot and considering your training Portiga wouldn't of made a massive amount more cash with a season of pace

My guy also has 3.5 talent and the previous manager has a graph so I am very pleased now
2008-06-22 21:14:48
Awesome stuff.

Defender prices are crazy at the moment!! £606k, will get near 2 seasons of pace then 2 seasons of def, bargain or robbed? I figure that he must be a decently high level junior with that skill spread, what do you guys think?

Lembit Teesalu, age: 18

value: 47 400 £, wage: 705 £
good form, tragic tactical discipline

average stamina tragic keeper
average pace very good defender

Same as the other guy really, bought with this and next seasons pace training in mid. £414k, bargain or robbed? Would look much better with a random or two in key areas, I guess I am fairly happy with him though.

Alfio La Vista, age: 18

club: AFC Bramford Lane, country: Italia
value: 70 650 £, wage: 930 £
excellent form, tragic tactical discipline

poor stamina tragic keeper
hopeless pace good defender
excellent technique unsatisfactory playmaker
unsatisfactory passing very good striker

I would say both are decent buys, especially the 2nd one, with talent and fast pace pops he could sell for lots more next season.

You are right though, defender prices are obscene right now. ;)

He will probably stay in my team for at least 2 seasons I would have thought. I just hope that the players I have bought in will be talented enough to get to a decent level of pace over the next couple of seasons! I sold 2 older players last night, now need to place another 2 players on the list now, but my older players are some of my better ones!! So I dont know what to do!!

When you are pace training, you are really planning for the future, so perhaps taking the hit to your team strength in order to maximize the training is the best idea. It worked pretty well for me, although I'm now finding it hard to repeat the process with my older pace trainees.
2008-06-23 22:19:19
My only worry is that I am not doing it long term like you are, I am only doing it for 2 seasons.
2008-06-23 22:24:59
Well, you have a long-term training plan at least, thats a good thing.
2008-06-23 22:28:17
I always have one of them ;) But I get twitchy usually and waste my spare cash on rubbish, I just hope I dont do that again this time!!!
2008-06-23 22:30:04
LOL you are like me, I was planning 2 seasons of pace but will probably end up doing just 1 now......oh well I do have a long term plan...it just keeps changing!
