Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2008-06-26 22:45:54
Just got a mail back from the previous owner of the guy I bought. He says he had 4 week talent in junior school, if its true then I am happy enough.
2008-06-26 22:46:39
Well, I have heard it many times before, but have never seen evidence for it. To me it seems to be more like 10% difference or perhaps even a tad more.

i had it with an 18 yr old too, but at lower level (to hopeless->unsat), on todays pop also :)

Similarly, a player who played in an official match will train better than one who just played in a friendly. If a player played in two different positions during the week, the last match counts. The benefit of playing a player with the same match order twice is small - they will receive near full training by playing 1 match

nice and vague. the first part suggests the difference is worth noting, the second part suggests the difference is negligable.

Springfield fielding their first XI i surely nullified by the fact that they are a bot team? get watching his last few matches! oh and hope his next league game is violent & dirty! ;^)

If you remembered I bought him for 57k and everyone said robbed, is it still robbed or have you all changed your minds?
2008-06-27 19:54:09
Still robbed i'm afraid Ken.
2008-06-27 20:01:21
still robbed. keep at him and you may eventually get an ok price for him. another season and a half of pace then sell him to a tech trainer

Wont be selling him till he is 24. After my pace training which ends this season, then I will switch to tech, then to passing then playmaker, hopefully by then he would have magical pm and excellent passing, hopefully But anyways even if I do finish my mid training I might not even sell him.

That is good long-term planning. I'd suggest you consider training pace for another season though - but it depends what levels your players will have by then. Get everyone to solid/very good at least, by which time it should be clear who is talented enough to remain in your tech/passing/pm training plans.
2008-06-27 20:16:55
good to see you have a long term training plan ken
2008-06-27 20:22:40
Suggestion taken onboard :)
2008-06-28 02:57:56
I suggest training pace just after tech... because now its just..mmm... hopeless [:
2008-06-28 10:17:28
Put a bid on him of £276 before I went to bed as he finished at 0240 int the morning, woke up and got him. He will replace a 21 y/old of similar skills, bargain or robbed? I have no idea of talent btw and is bought for pace training in the reserves.

Zacarias Piñango, age: 17

club: AFC Bramford Lane, country: Venezuela
value: 80 850 £, wage: 1 170 £
average form, tragic tactical discipline

hopeless stamina very good keeper
poor pace tragic defender
unsatisfactory technique hopeless playmaker
good passing tragic striker
2008-06-28 10:19:17
Slightly worried by this one though. Again, before I went to bed put a bid of £1001 on him just to see how much he would go for, and I got him for that amount!!! I think he is a bargain, and he will be trained for at least 4 seasons as he is pretty much ideal, what do you lot think?

Florentino Torrens, age: 17

club: sentimiento verdiblanco, country: España
value: 18 900 £, wage: 390 £
very good form, tragic tactical discipline

hopeless stamina tragic keeper
unsatisfactory pace adequate defender
average technique weak playmaker
average passing weak striker
2008-06-28 10:20:38
nice buy, if you can get his pace up to v.good/excellent, then sell you'll make a good profit on him.
