Are you solely training pace? I think you overpaid, but depending on if you get lucky with general training he may be worth it.

I've not really looked into that market though.

I reckon you over-payed by roughly 500k, still he in a nice pace trainee.

I am doing 3 weeks of tech now followed by 2 seasons of pace. I reckon he'll be magical-magical-magical by 24 and maybe worth a bit more.

Yep he will be worth a bit more at age 24 if he has those skills, I agree. Its one of those things, its just a matter of opinion. Just because you can make some money training him doesn't make him a bargain now. Its also one of those frustrating situations where you will find the 5% selling fee will really eat into your profits when you sell.

I'm not 100% sure if he will be magical pace, but its possible, he will have to be fairly talented.

took 6 weeks to magical striker so fingers crossed. Its also that thing of having players who are good enough for the first team. I may train him till 25 as well and try and make him triple unearthly. It will also be nice to have an uber striker for a change

Its an idea, but I really doubt you can get him to 3*Unearthly at any point aged 25.

I know from painful experience just how long pops take at high levels as a player ages, especially pace pops. You can expect to be waiting most of a season from pops to magical/unearthly pace.
