Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

That's based on my team, since I've been playing the game.

Nowadays I've got 3 magical assistants and this is the head coach...

unearthly of stamina brilliant of keeper
unearthly of pace unearthly of defender
unearthly of technique unearthly of playmaker
unearthly of passing incredible of striker

Like I said, buy young and they pop quicker. Buy talented, they pop quicker. Buy as new trainees, or ones a season or so old, then you're more likely to get mid or high sublevel players and hence get quicker random pops.

One of the best tactics is to buy and just see what happens in terms of random pops. If you get a load on one player sell him ASAP - it's stupid to keep him knowing that he's already popped and will take a while to come round again. In the meantime you can sell him, make a profit, buy another, and hope to get more random pops, quicker. It's a game of educated chance; having better coaches and younger talented players just makes the odds of winning better. That's the game Phil plays, and he's very good at it - he knows what he wants to buy and maximises his chances of profit by getting young talented players at under market price, who he knows will increase quickly with a few levels of pace. This is pretty much guaranteeing a profit, irrespective of how few, or many, random pops there are along with the pace. Touting them and advertising them helps a lot too.

Take it or leave it, but there's your explanation.

this is my player i was talking about! currently has 1 full training on striking with 7 general, 8 tomorrow. So hoping for a pop on that soon. Also tech has about 9 general 10 tomorrow. I might also consider taking data and saving it, as i think it varies with age and talent, more than the skill level.

Henryk Szwarczewski, age: 18

club: Enjoi FC

History
, country: Polska
value: 82 050 £, wage: 945 £
very good form, adequate tactical discipline

NTDB:
adequate stamina hopeless keeper
outstanding pace unsatisfactory defender
adequate technique poor playmaker
poor passing adequate striker

Ill take that explanation to my kind of game play anyway.

Yes, of course, 2.5 seasons.
Remember that you can't count general pops when there's a trained pop in between or you don't know the exact starting level.
If you get a player who is say 1 week general training away from a pop, then you train that skill, when they pop they are essentially almost +1 week in that skill, so of course will take less weeks of general training to get to the next one, in comparison with a player who was improving solely with general pops.
I'm 100% certain it would be impossible for 2 random pops average - adequate - good or any variation thereof at 19. It would be impossible for a 16 y/o too.
2008-12-03 23:18:07
I think it varies in exactly the same way as normal training
2008-12-03 23:19:46
If he's talented you might get a striker pop sometime in the next 8 weeks.

Definitely

That's exactly what I'm anticipating.
2008-12-03 23:25:08
earlier you said you thought randoms don't vary much with level - but normal training obviously does, have you changed your mind?

this is the reply i got from Phil a while ago!

Yep, I struggle a bit more on the top trainees, its more hit and miss.

If a player is talented a full random pop will take roughly 2 seasons.

Then i ask him is it the same with lower and higher levels and i got this

Yep, but also at higher levels of skills too, so it evens out.

i think it varies with talent and age not skill level as i said earlier

Not sure what you have interpreted from my comments there, so I will try to state them again to make things clear.

I generally feel that a player will take around 10*Longer to random pop in a skill than if they were trained. So for example, if you have a skill that takes 2 weeks to pop when trained, you can expect it to take around 20 weeks. If a player takes 4 weeks to pop, then you are looking towards 40 weeks for a full random pop.

So my thinking was this, for a young player most skills will take 3-4 weeks to pop, or roughly two seasons for a full general training pop. An older player and pops will be slower, and so will be random pops.

It does vary with skill level.

Simple example, it may take 1 week to train a very talented young player from tragic to hopeless. It will therefore take roughly 10 weeks for a full random pop.

Same player may take 3 weeks to pop from excellent to outstanding, or roughly 30 weeks for a full random pop.

Going by your data even if a player is uber talented, phils theory of 2 seasons still wouldnt be no where near correct. as im sure you have had talented players?
2008-12-03 23:59:40
Dale, if you remember the last time we fell out was because you started spouting barnacles and now you're doing it again! Albeit this time you've come out your shell and all of a sudden you're a know it all again! Can phil simply post on here and put dale down or something. I've never heard such bobbins in my life!

you could of explained that better in your sk mail :p as 2 seasons is 2 seasons. you did also say it evens out at higher skills.
