Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2009-02-23 02:06:15
dj said There is a good purchase and there is robbed though. Sty's keeper is robbed unless he trains his keeper skill. A very good keeper with brilliant pace is still a very good keeper, and won't sell for any/much more.

FWIW I half-agree with you. Your principle is right, but I don't think he's been as robbed as some people suggest - especially after the robbing he just dished out to an Argentinian. The talent is great, passing is already high, and a keeper random would be a bonus. If trained long-term, he will make a profit.

dale: You agree with him?!?!?!?!?!?! I've seen it all now...

You can put it any way you want, the fact is it was robbed. Without training keeping, he will be lucky to get any profit on him at all.

Your opinions are not fact. Playing someone too old for worthwhile training in a training slot is, almost always, not advisable. Robbed or not - Sty has a nice keeper for division IV, for as long as he wants him. If you kept players for more than 2 minutes & trained optimally you may learn the benefits of this approach. If you dish out duff advice - expect someone to pick you up for it.

that settles it... next season we should definitely ditch NSW for Judgement Night!

The reason I say robbed is that I truly believe he will have some of his money taken away from his Argentinian sale by way of a TPA, if that happens he will possibly then have to sell the keeper again......or other players. If this does happen I expect he will not recoup more than 300k for his new keeper, thats just my opinion of course.

£6,000 Bargain or robbed?
2009-02-23 11:27:30
Yes it was, which apart from the fact i doubt his coaches can handle it, he is almost certain to sell him before he gets the pops needed to make some cash. He has buying and selling in his blood.

Bargain :p
2009-02-23 13:09:23
Lol i just sold a keeper i had for nearly 2 years. I also have one of jaize's old youth players which i bought for 70k, He also has been with me for nearly 2 years. Just because i know when i spot a bargain and react on it, There is no need for you too get bitchy. I dont see the point in buying young goalkeepers, unless you have the coaches too get a random pop or they are incredibly cheap. At the end of the day you are batling against keeper trainers to buy them.

I think thats around the right price, you cannot really lose out for 6k though can you. ;)

I finally lost patience and bought these 3 guys last week. I suspect I overpaid by about 20% each, but would really appreciate a second (or third) opinion.
