yes but its pace so its not a main trainee, just someone who will improve as a side effect of the pace training

Thats exactly why I bought him, he will fill a whole for a season or two then be sold for a little profit hopefully. I am buying him as a back up striker, not a main one.

and if he was talented he should still manage to pop every 5 weeks in pace.

Not necessarily for pace training. Especially with GKs where pace only really adds a lot to their value at the higher levels.
