Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2009-09-09 11:27:53
A big bag of readies isn't a problem, infact my entire aim this season is to increase my already large pile of cash. Next season I can then afford to be wasting a little money buying in some top quality players to help get me back to winning ways.

Some players aged over 18/19 are profitable, but in general the biggest potential for quick money is on players aged 19 and lower. They pop faster, and with a few key pops in the right areas can suddenly look trainable & be worth a lot more than you paid.

Older players are really just for getting results, you can't expect to be making quick profits without a lot of luck with random pops.

* skulks off to a corner to work out which key pops occur in the right areas * :)...

Usually passing, defender or striker ;-)

However, the general scenario is that you buy a pretty good YP, train them for say 5-6 weeks in a skill. In that time you find you can prove high talent, and maybe they popped 3 times.

During that period the other skills relevant to the position may have random popped, leaving you with a suddenly very expensive trainee that you can sell.

No guarantees and all that, but it happens far more often with fresh YP's (younger players) than the older player who has probably already had talent proved (increasing the price), & will have recently popped in a few skills (hence why the owner is selling).

Excellent, now we must delete this thread before the whole of England reads your cunning plan :)

Some already know that anyway. Just decide they have...

1) Not enough money to do it

2) Inadequate time to do it.

3) A longer term plan.

why robbed and was was jimmys bargain please explain
2009-09-09 18:51:43
For me robbed by a bit. Not sure how much, what was the talent like?
Looks alright that one, although i don't pay much for young unknown talented players.

If untalented i doubt you'll make a loss with a couple of pops.
2009-09-09 20:27:37
Because he is a better def and cost less than your guy :)
2009-09-09 21:12:48
jimmy paid around half price for his ... boo
2009-09-09 21:52:10
If you think that was a good price. The guy i bought him from day traded him and made something like £75k! He does have tragic form though, which explains the price.
2009-09-09 23:06:34
dunno, but even if badly untalented, i hope he'll be excellent striker / pace / defender by 19. which should hopefully make him attractive to a technique trainer.
