Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2009-09-20 15:24:54
just got word that Danivaldo's talent is 4.5 with an Incredible youth coach. Not the best, but could be much worse.

And he's only popped in tech so far.

Still Bargin?

Its certainly a bargain.

2009-09-20 20:26:42
Normal/robbed. Why not spend £400k on a guy i have that is talented, and will be better than him in 3 seasons aged 20?
2009-09-20 23:05:31
because your 17 yr old is not a pace trainee?
2009-09-21 11:03:21
Unless he was a late-20 year old pull, I think it unlikely that he is very talented I'm afraid. However, if you can get him up to outstanding pace and tech, hopefully he will random in striker giving you 3 * outstanding, and you might be able to sell on for a small profit when he's 25 - in the mean time you get a reasonable first team player for your level (I'm guessing).
2009-09-21 11:29:55
as a tripple outstanding at 25 he should be able to make between 50% - 100% profit
2009-09-21 11:31:03
well then, definitely a better purchase than dj's castoff :)
2009-09-21 11:34:42
lol! i'm not sure what dj's player is worth... maybe 400k is fair... but as don trains pace it really would not have been a smart purchase for him. on the other hand, if he bought this guy for first team action he will struggle to get past any of the top teams defence in our division. i've lost 2 of my first 4 games and my worst defender is incredible defender / formidable pace and my team rating last night for defence was formidable

Crikey - the gap is definitely closing. Mind you, thinking about it I've got 2 divine defenders now and 2 magicals. But that's only because I've given up trying to win games with one decent striker and because defenders are so ridiculously cheap.
2009-09-21 12:17:40
the top 3 teams in my division are all averaging over 50 on individual marks and very good on team rating
2009-09-21 12:25:04
In regards to your initial comment, perhaps. I think you see my point though RE: the player i'm trying to sell? It would appear people would rather spend slightly less money on unproven talent than proven talent? How my player is not worth £400k i'll never know.
2009-09-21 12:29:46
like I say, it's definitely getting smaller - with def and att prices crashing I think the difference between the top teams and also rans will basically be in the quality of MID players, they are getting stupidly expensive for decent ones.
2009-09-21 12:32:40
i see your point with regards to talent certainly but as i said i just don't think your player fits his training plan. i really have no idea what your 17yr old is worth... look at how cheap my 18yr old with proven 3.5 talent (although not really enough weeks to be sure) went for. i too have given up trying to understand the market... i just list everyone for 2 quid and hope that a good choice of selling time means i get a fair price. saturday afternoon when everyone is off down the pub fo rfootball is a rubbish time :(
2009-09-21 12:45:30
Oh i agree with the point about him not suiting pace training; no arguement. That is a rubbish time to sell in england :-( i think the downside i am finding with listing at minimums is that nobody wants to look at the player when they see his skills and list price, so they never see his talent. That's all i can think.
in which case, if you have a talented player, maybe the best thing to do with him is train him to the point that his skills become noticeable ? e.g. 1 formidable @ 18 ?
