Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide
in which case, if you have a talented player, maybe the best thing to do with him is train him to the point that his skills become noticeable ? e.g. 1 formidable @ 18 ?

actually that may well be the case where the talent is the main selling point - of course with developed players the skills speak for themselves more.
edit. therefore NCN may also have a point.

urg! dj & ncn may both have a point, and i appear to be agreeing with them?!?
clearly we must all be spouting barnacles

Yeah, i think you're right, but because i'm no longer training pace i couldn't get him to that noticeable figure. I think i'll keep him now and get the bump in tech as i wanted to move away from that too, hence the sale.
I am now glad I am training all my mids to be uber 4X magical
4x magical is weak :)
i have 22yo with 2 magical+ :P

You won't be glad when you try to sell them and realise that no-one is interested because they are too old!
I'd disagree there, if a player is good enough they can still go for high values even at 28 or 29 years old - just not 9 million kind of values.
It really depends on how good they are etc.
You won't be getting massive sums of money, infact its unlikely that you will add any significant value between age 24 & 28/29 when you sell....

If they hold their value over that time though, you may aswell keep them ?
It depends if you care about making money with your trainees ;-)
Once you sell you could be in a tricky position where you have to accept a weaker side as you re-build.

I don't consider many of my first team players to be trainees any more - quite often they are strong in most skills the need but may be weak in the one I'm training.
If you market your sold players well, and can be patient with auctions (not my strong point), I think you can sell old to buy as good / better young :)

or you could do as i'm doing and accept the fact that i won't be playing forever, so i can afford to keep a lot of the old blokes around and not have to worry about selling them for reduced prices at old ages in 2 or 3 seasons.
I could keep my lads until 34 /35 quite happily, and they won't drop off too much in performance.

I can't accept that fact. What would I do with my time ? Work ?
