Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2009-12-06 11:27:39
Would be interesting to know how quickly an international standard player will drop to the point they become useless. That's what I plan to do with Harry Hardcastle.

But isn`t he already useless?:)

i would say 28 is a good age for cheap oldies - i too have had pops at pretty high levels at that age still, and you have probably 3 seasons before the plops begin
2009-12-06 11:30:32
Better than Dybdal!
2009-12-06 16:40:35
Not quite a top level player but this guy has only lost 2 skills so far. And they both randomed up when he was about 29 so they were known to be low (Tech and passing)

Gordon McManaman, age: 32
formidable stamina tragic keeper
formidable pace excellent defender
excellent technique outstanding playmaker
incredible passing adequate striker
2009-12-06 18:13:41
sold for £2.383m

B or R for the buyer?

Bill Christopher, age: 17
value: 96 750 £, wage: 570 £
divine form, very good tactical discipline
NTDB:
poor stamina - tragic keeper
excellent pace - hopeless defender
very good technique - good playmaker
adequate passing - good striker

Right price imo. If anything the buyer may have been slightly robbed by a couple of hundred grand tops. ;)

it's a decent price, but you could of got higher, the bidding war was between me and the guy who got him, i wanted to keep bidding but unfortunately ran out of funds :/
2009-12-06 18:24:02
don't tell me that :(

I did hope he would stay in England - but I hope at that price that at least the guy will train him.
2009-12-06 18:25:37
Looks to me like you robbed the buyer blind.
2009-12-06 18:34:42
coming from you, I'll take that as a compliment ;)

Seriously though, I watched a Polish 24yo player with 44 striker points going for 4.8m, I don't know if that was his final price. Christopher is more than capable of surpassing that total, barring injuries, etc.

Yes, but he is a long way from that point right now at age 17 (nearly aged 18).

I'm comparing him to a lot of the midfielders/strikers of his age group that I have seen sold this season. It seems a little expensive to me, but then again I don't usually buy strikers for me its usually midfielders.

One direct comparison (who I also thought may be a little over-priced): Hugh Hollis

Considering form and age, Im going to say Bargain!
2009-12-06 22:15:27
bargain by about 1 million i'd say.
