Subject: Bargain or Robbed? You decide

2007-05-08 10:35:39
You did well if you don't want to play him in league matches. I need to play mine as a first teamer.
2007-05-08 12:12:21
I am playing him in first team matches!!! He is my best defender by a mile, even with tragic stamina!!! He will get several weeks of stamina between seasons to improve him further.

£147k. Training pace this season then def next season:

Jean-Luc Bugnies, age: 18
value: 54 300 £, wage: 615 £
club: AFC Bramford Lane, country: België
incredible form, hopeless tactical discipline

poor stamina, hopeless keeper
adequate pace, adequate defender
weak technique, very good playmaker
weak passing, adequate striker

In one season he has popped 4 x pm, 1 pace, 1 def & 3 stamina according to his last owner. If he is that talented I could have a very nice player in the not so distant future, but was I robbed?

Decent price, it's just going to be a faff for you playing him in the cup next season when his pace and defending start off quite low. If he's talented, bargain though, imo.
2007-05-10 23:21:01
I am quite prepared to go out early in the cup as it only hinders training imo. I really want to do a full season of def with no breaks, i do stamina as most do in the pre-season. If I am lucky he might get a few randoms as well which would be nice :)

I'm in my 2nd full season of def training and it's shored up my goals against really well. I trained pace and technique on them first, which meant I had a rubbish defence for a couple of seasons, but now I'm coming to the end of it without selling any it's all starting to seem worthwhile and they're looking legendary. It's definitely worth doing things the long way round, with talented trainees you'll always win in the long run!

Ra!

Bobby Rolfe, age 21
value: 348 600 £, wage: 3 240 £
formidable form
bookings:
formidable stamina,
formidable pace,
formidable technique,
poor passing,
hopeless keeper
magical defender
weak playmaker
good striker
2007-05-10 23:28:40
Started out as:

Bobby Rolfe, age 17
value: 41 250 £, wage: 615 £
very good form

unsatisfactory stamina,
good pace,
good technique,
hopeless passing,
hopeless keeper
solid defender
hopeless playmaker
average striker

17 year old just-gone-excellent youth who popped every 4 weeks.

This is also a thinly-veiled transfer ad, if anyone wants to take him off my hands as an unearthly defender at the end of the season and keep training him, I'd consider it as I'm switching to mids and he's no good for that really.
2007-05-11 06:58:49
Still didn't stop you conceding 4 against me :).
2007-05-11 14:53:20
That's because you're so great.
2007-05-11 15:01:50
Oh, god, yes he is, isn't he ?

Really really great.

And modest too.

Really really modest.
2007-05-11 19:18:37
I'd just like to repeat how modest he is. I don't want him to have to do it, y'see.
2007-05-11 19:25:34
You are just too kind.
2007-05-11 19:42:17
Don't mention it.

No really.

:-)
2007-05-11 20:28:44
he's not that great... there ARE greater managers out there ;)
