What are you training and why?

I got bored of being thrashed every week so the long term pace training idea has gone out of the window!
So I now need a position to train.

In going to train strikers for a little while, but with a plan of promotion again next season I know I can't have 3 trainee strikers playing as they won't cut the mustard.

The formation has to be 5 at the back so I'm thinking of splitting the training up into sections like

2 weeks pace
4 weeks tech

Etc... Then in the off season use those 2 weeks to train the more talented players in say 2 weeks pace instead of stamina.

I've heard a few people do this as it's keeps it more interesting and general training can increase the rest.

Any ideas or comments guys and gals?

I train pace at the moment also...as most of my players need it...but will change to defending at the end of the season...I train 1 week pace and 1 stamina in off season :D

Seems a solid enough plan. I don't think i will ever change away from MID training, although i am thinking of giving them all a bit of defender for the first time ever.

I have better foundations in terms of trainees than i have for a long time so it's looking up for me in the next few seasons.

Striker training suits me, only three skills to worry about.. GK doesn't seem like it is profitable enough, although what do I know..?

Been training tech most of the season so far, going to do a couple of weeks of mid skills and then probably back to tech.

I have meant to be training tech this season, but due to a few blunders I swapped to stamina and forgot to switch back for a couple of weeks.

Suffice to say I've got mostly formidable stamina players..

Yeah strikers are worth a lot of coin, I highly wouldn't recommend training GK

I think training options are limited if you want a competitive first team, I've got until next season to decide after tomorrow I'll move onto tech training and then off load the strikers at the start of next season.

Defenders really need 5 skills to be worth a lot

Ho hum, I'm training defenders ;-)

I'm stuck between training Mid's and defenders at the moment, I have now been advised though that defender trains quicker than pace. Have you found this to be the case?

Everything trains quicker than pace.

Lol typical

One skill every bloody position needs as well

I appear to training everything - 15 pops this week. 6 striker, 3 def, 2 pace, 2 playmaking, 1 tech and 1 passing.

Just out of curiosity how would you guys go about training 22 players under the age of 22?

Just train pace and hope for the best or train your preferred position and hope for the best with random pops?

I've noticed that a lot of clubs have 22 youngish players I.e still trainable now I can't imagine they all train pace as not everyone has the patience like Phil fox! Are they wasting money or sitting on a gold mine?

I've also noticed there's a massive line between good trainees and pap, now the pap will probably cost you more in wages than it would ever make you in random pops, but the good trainees will cost you more outlay, but could potentially hold value in the long run if you strike it lucky.

I used to keep money in the bank and when someone got injured just buy someone for that game, but the TL isn't what it used to be again my opinion and they have cracked down on day trading, luckily arcade matches are a way around this.

To the point I hear you say, has anyone got any experience of holding a young squad and making a bit of money when they hit 24? I'm thinking 20yo you can pick up some quality 20yo players for 200k at this stage of the season I'm thinking of getting a load in for the b team. Also whilst on the subject of the total skill sum is there a program mobile internet based that tells me this?

And no I'm not pissed :p

Well I think you will end up training pace and biting the bullet.

How are arcade matches a way around day trading?

The problem with selling at 24 is trying to progress up the league. There is such a gap with trainees that there is a real risk of losing your cash if they have not developed optimally. Its quite a strange market where provable potential is 9 10ths but once trained unless near perfect they can be worth less than you paid.
