Veryyyyy late with this question I know, been off the radar with this game for a bit. This new junior school system, compared to the old one its a headache and messes up my sokker organizer, is there a way of monitoring it or just knowing which junior is worth keeping?
This is the way I do it:
1. I assume that all juniors are talented...that means that they will get on average 1 pop every 3-4 weeks.
2. I look at the initial skill and the total weeks until promotion to the main squad and I determine his max potential. That is how I decide at the beginning. After a while I see whether he is talented or not (SO keeps track of pops) and re decide if I want to keep him.
3. Example:
Negative: Stan Eddy age-17, skill - adequate [6], weeks til promotion - 7. He will be 18 by the time he will get promoted and even if he is supper talented he might not be worth spending money. Even if he pops every 2 weeks (that would be a supper talent and is very unlikely) ...that means 3.5 pops - very good [9.5] at 18 = not such a good junior. SACK
Maybe: Seb Bikers age - 17, good [7] weeks til promotion - 16. He will be promoted at 18 around this time of the season. I might want to give him a try because if he is average talent (pops once in every 4 weeks) I will have a formidable player at 18...if he is talented and gets 5-6 pops in 16 weeks you will then have at least an outstanding player at 18.
Positive: John Smith age 16 - solid - 16 weeks - this one at average talent would end up outstanding at 17 years old.
The hole idea is to predict how many pops they will get in the time spent at the junior school. And then track and recalculate depending on the talent (how often they pop). But at the beginning you must hope for the best and see if they deserve a chance.
That is how I do it....hope its the right way and that you understand the concept.

One more thing.
Sokker Organizer does not give you a good insight on the projected level, or the average weeks to pop. That is because he does not know the current actual skill of a player.
The right formula for that is to subtract the number of weeks since your player has not popped when you make the average, that is because you can not see his current skill....and he might be 99% till pop or 50% till pop or sometimes you can get long periods with no pops and then 2-3 skill pops in 1 week. The talent is calculated by ignoring the time since last pop.
For example: Player x joined with average [5] skill - after 5 weeks he popped to adequate [6] then after 2 weeks he went solid [8] then next week he dropped to good [7] and he has not popped in 3 weeks.
His most correct average is = number of pops initial skill -average [5] - to current skill good [7] = 2 pops. Number of weeks for those pops = 5+2+1= 8 weeks he was for sure at good => an average of 4 weeks to pop. Since he has not popped in 3 weeks he will soon pop. ;)

The junior school is no good, needs fixing.
This happens alot , and for me its a game leaver , ive waited 7 seasons to get a Kirk Vale or another great junior , this 1 is only brilliant and not magical or unearthly like Vale but what a utter waste.
I've never known some1 who s 18 who has trajic pace and hopless tech wanting or being able to be a football player, sort it out numb nuts.
Ernie Dalby, age 18
value: 84 600 £
wage: 1 095 £
very good form
height: 171 cm, weight: 69.9 kg,
BMI: 23.92
average stamina hopeless keeper
tragic pace good defender
hopeless technique excellent playmaker
very good passing very good striker
For the 3rd time make sure this dosnt happen by making sure you cant have all 3 postions high like Dalby has (much less in pm or striker or defender) & never have trajic pace ,and only low pace is possible with defenders, & strikers start at weak pace. whoever disagrees is wrong and dont listen to them whoever it is.
Also what is preventing him from running fast? his bmi is perfect & if you say its random then make it not so, have you ever known a striker that cant run at all and has not tech at all!

It's annoying, but if you change it to that extent you run in to the danger of making all top pulls decent and this would be bad for Sokker/the economy.
You are taking the realism of a game a bit too literal if you ask me! :)

Ok to realism, but if he's no good & no1 has been for 7 seasons isnt that just absolutly miles the other way , just making sure strikers have more pace &/or dont have much pm or defending and vice versa wont make untold more great pulls just maybe 1 or 2 every 2 or 3 seasons. but i do understand 1 Vale per 7/8 seasons is enough but what i am saying i havnt really had 1 anywhere near him in 7/8 seasons!
I would have thought its better than a brillaint junior being well adequete and a excellent one better.

Thank you for your comprehensive advice, I appreciate it. Also anyone has any answers to why juniors decrease in ability, (like that is ever possible in real life)? The old JS system wasnt broken why fix it.

This isn't going to be very helpful. But, there doesn't appear to be much logic in the junior school to me. My players skills appear to go up and down like yo-yo's and overall don't ever appear to rise that much (if at all). Because of this, I am seriously considering junking it completely and saving my money but I've had it open this long I still live in hope that I will work it out one day (or just get plain lucky!) ...
I have a case which perfectly highlights my frustration with the system.
I have one player who after being 6 weeks in my school has actually dropped a level from their original assessment. What should I make of that?
a) their original assessment was completely poo?
or my preferred view ;-)
b) they have a negative talent and actually with training they get worse ... rotflmao ... if that is the case, I have found my beer drinking fag smoking bad boy ... lol ...

I was going to have a moan about another player who has gone up just once in 7 weeks and then it dawned on me that if they go up next week, 2 pops in 8 isn't actually that bad ;-)
Knowing my "luck" they will drop a level instead and be 0 pops in 8 weeks!?!

My Youth coach has to be a complete numpty, I have another player who has dropped 2 skills since being in my youth school ... useless bugger ...

The funny thing is my best Yp came when I had a formidable Yc
From what i've gathered is, your junior can be up to 2 skills wrong but i think that its 2 up and 2 down say you see him as good he can be average to very good but most likely adquete to solid, but when they are say excellent and above i find its only a 1 skill blag or truth so an outstanding is a incredible.
I suppose this brings the element of luck trying to find a talent aswell as finding right position , good for newcomers? but if you play an average but he is really a good (2 different) then does he get a good mans point score? i hope so (then you CAN work it out) then this would make some slight sense.
