Subject: [U21] Manager
Bryan Robson to
All
Hi again,
Born in 1972, from Southend where i've lived all my life.
I'd like to keep the job as i have spent all season trying out tatics and players, now i no the best 11 and all the squad, we have now improved our players, & managers that are training the players are training them the way i would have wanted them too aswell :)
Just looking at results alone won't tell you what i have done for the Enlgand U21 side. (*Mexico cheated against us so scrub that game out)
We have turned a corner now, England 2 Scotland 0 is the start of things to come :)

The U21 ranking has slid to an all time low since you have been in charge, which will make it harder to qualify. If you could have done anything different last season what would it be and why.
In not one single game with the U21s last season did you beat a side that out matched the U21s rating wise, in fact you regularly struggled against sides best described as minnows (ie justifiably losing to South Africa despite a squad 12 rating points better, and losing to Senegal a country with 15 users). How do you feel the past seasons learning curve should stop this from happening? What do you feel was your best match in charge so far and why?
What is your target with the U21s for the upcoming season?

If you win will you lower the amounts of messages and posts you put out?
I under estimated a couple of sides Senegal & South Africa (played a way younger team against them they played there best teams) i thought i'd still win against senegal should have learnt against south Africa and have totally learnt now that i was playing with a terrible bunch of 20yo's.
Against Mexico (the 2nd game) he lied and played his best team when it was meant to be a u19/u20 mix.
* Lesson learnt - i won't under estimate a team again.
I will play all the best players in the qualifiers
If you look at Venezuela 1:1 & Paraguay 1:1 , i think they are good results and the 1st Mexico match i was winning until about the 69th minute when Metson got sent off, i beat Canada 3-0 of similar marks (did you miss that 1?) & i don't no how we did'nt beat India (hit woowork twice and ball fell on line) it was almost ridiculous.
Maybe should have played more under 21 games, when i 1st took over i did'nt concentrate who i was playing too much just to get all the games sorted, it felt like panic fixtures :(
But as i have said before i am all about NOT letting the team go through this problem again, whereby we have such a bad lot of 20yo soon to be 21yo.
I have spent countless hours and 100's of mails as so this won't happen again, (getting a few of our players sold from 'bad trainers' or notifying them there training was'nt even best for there own team, or getting them to get another or better assistant trainer etc ) all the bad results are behind us now and we are looking to the future and with some nice 19yo's and a great bunch of 18yo's coming through, that looks bright :)
For the upcoming season the target is still quite low because the 18/19yo's that are soon to be 19/20yo's arnt ready to beat all the teams nice 20yo's soon to be 21yo's, but i will try 100% with everything i've got, with a little help from Lorre, Tcd_uk & Nothis i will get what we can out of it.
I hope for 2nd but we may come 3rd..

Yes that was just for the 1st season, i have everything in place now :)

Canada have 20 users. Didn't think worth mentioning really.

And I was half harted...mate I want solutions...not excuses...I like you and your devotion but I think that the inexperience of nt management was one of your biggest enemies this season. I hope that now ...having learned a lot you are a lot better and will show us what you are made of.
I will have to check if I can vote on friday after the match. If you win...and I do not care if we play Poland or Zimbabue... You have my vote. Anyway...I hope to get you in my qualies group...:D

Lol it ends on the 16th...so enough time...but OMG you got Scotland next...and all I can say...I pitty you...they are tough and so good with tactics...and you play U21 most squad...win that and you can get us to the WC.
On a side note...here is a question for you..
As a manager of Canada U21 I have set my matches knowing that we are outsiders in most of the games but also knowing that those will be the games we have to prepare for if we want to stand a chance in the next qualies. What was your tactic for this season ...and Why have you rejected a friendly vs Poland that I had set for you before you took over? What would you do if you get Poland in your group? Or ROMANIA?

I did'nt want a spanking against Poland, also at the time i wanted to play U20 he didnt (i did'nt have any plan for those friendlies booked, just panic stations thinking i'd miss out) sorry Q
I've been trying out my tactics for better teams been trying things all season, now it's the proper games.. i have 4 or 5 x 20yo's that are any good and 1 is always out of form 2 others have poor stamina, what can anyone do but try to over achieve :)
There will be more than likely 3 teams better than us in the group, so i will need to sneak draws and 1-0 wins.
This is that perfect game really v Scotland , we will no where we stand. (Metson's form has really let me down, if there is a sokker god he will give me a result v Scotland)
One slight advantage in my favour is i've been playing at least 8 of this team all season, whereas most of the rest have been playing most of there 21yo's

To be honest I prefer to have an English manager because I think it's good to grow up in experience internally.
But I have to understand, lets say what I read here is clear.. Sorry Mansid but seems you're not ready yet.
Do we have a DB? Did you mantain update it?
Do you have helper or do we nerd?
I just would like to write down my thoughts

Yes i've done everything myself, not ready yet lol, ok , i wish i had'nt done what i did and just played my 21yo's and got some results because that is all anyone cares about it seems (struggling along until we can't no more) if that's what you want i'll move aside and let the training decline continue...i am trying to save England you no!
It is the England Under 21 side that is not ready yet.....but they are not far off now..

I for 1 know how it feels to build an u21 side ( I beat Brazil...England in my time) and not get the opportunity to show how my work would have benefitted a nation...I had everything against me being in English league and manager of Scotland u21s... ;) last season in my opinion was full of pointless games, games we should be trying different players.....different formations and tactics....but I want to give mansid an opportunity to show why he's been on our backs this season and giving lots of talking points in the forums (been good seeing some of the experienced teams getting involved again) I would like to see him get a chance to watch his players perform and show his hard work, instead of someone else coming in who doesn't know the team...the players.....I for 1 want to see him turn us around, look at pardew in real life and for that reason he has my vote.
It is true that aurel_craciun in his campaign for this job says he beat England 1-0 but what he does not say every single player in that England side was a 2nd string player (younger) i under estimated him and won't be doing that ever again i can assure you.
no offence but imho you always underestimated your opponents and overestimated your tactics.it is just my opinion not necesarly the truth,sorry..
Ah thanks very much, such kind words from lovely kind people ;)
