I think you should get a bonus the earlier you exit the cup, to cover the lack of income, when playng in friendly leagues haha ;) I say that cos im generally out and 2 or 3!!
On a serious note, I tend to agree. More money, more incentive. However, how much were you thinking? I have always sacrificed training over a cup run. Not saying I'd get much further, mind you. There's never enough of a financial carrot to make me switch to a cup over training, so if there was a decent size prize fund, I might try harder!

There was rumours of a system where you didn't have to pick or choose between cup / league / training but that is as yet to materialise.
If the international cup gives full training, I'll likely use that to train players rather than the FA Cup. Depending on what the financial side of it is anyway.
As things stand, it certainly wouldn't be impossible for my side to win the cup (after all beat RTS last season who have previously won it) but really can't justify throwing training away to do so. Lack the depth of wdp, or the all chips in approach of say Elmstead.

What’s the prize money like in the FA Cup just out of interest? Less so for winning and more for a QF/SF exit
Is it anything? Been a long time since I made it that far. I know finalists get something, but do even semi-finalists get anything?
- Teams eliminated in the quarterfinals: 22 500 £
- Teams eliminated in the semifinals: 45 000 £
- Runner-up: 75 000 £
- Champion: 150 000 £
So not a lot really.

Cheers - was just interested! Identical prize money in Wales despite us only having 5 users, surprised by that even if it’s only a small prize pot.
Yeah. I think those prize funds probably haven't changed since Sokker was invented.
It's a tough one. As the usual suspects win the cup (at least most be the case in the least populated countries) and more money goes to teams who don't need the help.
But that's football I guess!
I think at some stage the economy needs a full rebuild from the bottom up.
The dev's and all users should ask, what activity should be monetarily be rewarded? Well, it's a no brainer for the dev's to have some sort of daily log on bonus, or something that encourages people to actually play the game and spend time here. That's a no-brainer.
And then, maybe more incentive to those who start junior schools and pump players in to the game. Since it's the only way - other than new teams being generated - for there to be players in the first place.
They of course have the ability to reduce/increase the "random" in terms of how many juniors join each week. I wonder if they have ever done that? The less human players that play Sokker, the less players are generated, and the market price goes up...
I'm so tired I don't know why I'm rambling on...

The list of things this game needs is endless but I believe the attitude of the owners is "screw it, just ride it until the wheels fall off".
Kind of a shame because I've always believed this game has potential to grow. The fact that we got 200 new users within 2 weeks, with bare minimum promotion proves that. That all those people left is on the state of the game.

I initially joined the game in 2007, and kind of "gave up" around 2014, not sure when i just stopped logging in, but this game used to be thriving, and many many users left because of lack of development from the owners, and reluctance to fix anything.
I'm looking at old threads to try and find the user numbers in England. See below for an idea of it...
2006: 300 users.
2007: 485 users.
2009: 672 users.
2014: 132 users.
2026: 182 users.
Does anyone remember when they changed the junior system from accurate talent / no age, to this (frankly nonsense) system they have now? I don't think that helped user numbers...
So, long way of saying, the wheels fell off long ago...but changes have been made in the last decade, just many of which people didn't actually ask for. I know there is little point coming up with ideas, i'm actually shocked the economy hasn't completely broken in the time i've been away.

I joined in 2005 and left in 2012 after getting into an argument with Greg. At this games peak it had over 80,000 players but it was down to around 35,000 and I'd been warning about issues for at least 3 years. I'd collated a long list of ideas and problems from the forum, he dismissed it all and shut it down like a massive dickhead.
When I came back 11 years later, not a damn thing had been fixed.

I played 2009 to 2014 first time around, I was a bit stuck where I was in the Welsh leagues but also went away to university and was presented with a lot of other ways to fill my time! Came back this time last year - aside from the advanced training to be honest everything was exactly as I remembered it from the first time round. The International Cup is the only other thing now that's really updated in that time. Like you've both said there's so much potential to the game but it's built on mechanics from a different time and at this point realistically it's probably never going to get a full on overhaul.
Didn't realise you were an ex-player too. What name did you go by back then?
That's a secret. My ex introduced me to this game and that's not a door I want opened, she might still be stalking around these parts.
