BR: Are you 100% sure that you are not a closet Arsenal fan (or even Arsene Wenger himself) because I find it really hard to believe you are a Man Utd supporter ;-)
I'm just curious as to what first squad average age really shows?
For example, I could go out and buy 200, 16 year olds for next to nothing and my first squad average age would come in way below your value of 24.2 so would I then qualify for the youngest squad ever ;-)
A more realistic calculation would be the average age of the normal 11 first team starters.
Mine is currently 29.2 and about to go up due to the fact that all the players are about to age.

Pats himself on the back, they are strong young players though
LOL! Tbh, I have no idea why?
Your average rating were the 4th highest in the division and that's where you finished.
So it appears to me you finished exactly where you were destined to finish ;-)
Indeed, for a number of games your average rating were actually the 3rd highest and higher than mine. For example, the game where we drew 2-2, your average rating were higher than mine in that one.
What you do have is clearly a talented group of younger players who have the potential to get better but that's not an issue for the top 3 as you'll end up selling them before you can do any real damage in the league and bring in some other younger players to carry on your training merry-go-round.
If your plan is to win the PL with a young team that will be really hard to do (good luck! I mean it, as you'll need it) as there will always be at least one team in the PL packed with older more skilled players ...

hahaha fergie won with kids...funny you should say that i went to Arsenal v Everton last month, loads of my old mates are Arsenal, i used to hate them under Graham although loved Adams, Seaman & Keown, merson, I do love wenger
Yup is what I said, my plan is not to win premiership , never really was, or maybe I could keep this lot.... hmmmm :d
When i play the best teams i normally play more youth, if I think i've got a chance i won't and must win games i don't play as much youth.
I will try to win more games but it's a balance I don't wanna hurt my english youth.
Just wish we all made agreement to play 3 young english players it would all be fair :) but you know this is what i'd like it's not just for u21's it's for england to remain strong, seems Roma won't bend though, then there's trying to persuade mcoi, I have little chance there, I get the feeling you would if the rest did. me & lodz do and others [nothis included] but easier in div 2.
*After saying all that i intend to keep this lot till older 1's are 27/8 so next 2/3 seasons i expect more than 1 point from you 3

The only way you'll win the prem is if a load of teams give up. Probably for the best that you don't plan to win it.

There's no one in England who has contributed more players to the NT than myself. You may have had loads of U21 players (and that's easy when you can just call them up yourself) but very few full NT players in comparison.
Yes give yourself a pat on the back, I'm trying!
The best play wether they are mine or not, also bringing the best younger ones through etc, making future squads, but yes I have only had 3 players in the history of Southend FC that made full NT :( Workman, Vale & Petherbridge, not good, that is about to change, Reakes will make the England team soon no doubt, I reckon Cleverley will make it too, then there's Fry maybe Sterling, with Pethers being there a while the future is bright.

It Certainly is...... but not for me...;) (someone else can have that task)
we need to all have that one or 2 players coming through to add to that wee bit excitement of playing for country. There really are a lot of u21s coming through and also younger NT players too...quite an achievement which i hope will benefit the future of our u21s and NT. BR has done well with the u21s he has had at his disposal and in my opinion got the best out of them he could.
The NT defense is coming good again with Cawse, Fairclough, Petherbridge, Picken and Gregson all coming through, with Cawse the oldest at 27.....
Midfield could do with maybe a new superstar and strikers are looking good with gwilt (cunliffe will be 31 next season but still the best)
I will be passing over the NT duties to someone new and hopefully a decent squad for them to play with. ;)

When I started out I just wanted to win the PL at some point. I've now been lucky enough to manage this 5 times :-)
hopefully someone will stop your run soon ;)
unlucky herbs this season.....
