Subject: WC qualifying

Ok, we've started the campaign with 4-3 defeat to France. Their winning goal basically coming with the last kick of the match. Not the start we wanted but we have time to put things right.

Nice start, almoust a draw... The opponent had one missed penalty and own goal so they gave the opportunity. I knew the problems were in defense. Bill Breed was good and hit the two goals.

if gwilt was available would have been 5-4 ;)

Back in the day I'm sure England used to have a regular supply of decent defenders. Seems that line hasn't been replaced since it disappeared.

By the way, why Jimmy Unsworth played MID-order? Missed boost because played at ATT in league.

This were down to how I were wanting us to play. Btw, he hasn't had his league game yet but it is likely that he will be played as ATT.

Our 2nd WC qualifying match has seen us beat El Salvador 8-0 to get our WC campaign off the ground.
A decent enough performance from our team.

Great result, good choice of squad

We drew 2-2 with Malaysia today. Aspects of the performance were good, the shot count for starters but we really should be winning games like this if we want to do anything in this competition. However, we still find ourselves 3pts behind Malaysia but there is still a long way to go.

So we've now completed 4 of the WC qualifying games and find ourselves in a WC qualifying position :-)
We won very comfortably today 8-0, but given the gulf in class between the 2 sets of players, I were very much expected to win today. The biggest surprise today were seeing France lose to Malaysia which sees them slipping down to 3rd in the table though.

We're halfway through the WC qualifying now. A disappointing result today drawing with Canada 1-1. We were a touch unlucky given their goal were a penalty that came out of nothing and we simply couldn't put the ball into the back of the net from our chances. Yet, we're still only 3pts from top spot so still in our hands with 5 games left to play.
