Subject: Pop's

Question for all; at what age do you stop training players? I have a couple of 25yo's that I want another pop or 2 on, but am I stretching the boundaries here and am I wasting time I should give to younger players?

My understanding is the better the player, you ought to train even to 28? Is that right?

It depends on talent. There comes a point where it's no longer worth training them because they've slowed down so much. I'd say for talent around 3.5-4 that point is at the end of 25.

Mostly 25. Except very top level players. I trained Dave Saka to age 27, but there aren't that many it is viable to train for that long.

I have trained until 27 personally if talented and plays for the NT side. Sherringham was trained till the end of his 27th year.

It can depend on cult status and how sentimental they are to you too :)

Do you still train Saka?

Nope, stopped a couple of seasons ago.

Cheers all. Figured as much. What is nice about having a 25yo is if you get an injury to a core trainee you can just stick them on advanced and all is not lost I guess.

I'll persist with a few pops I'm waiting for then assign them to the formation training bin.

I would have kept training

5 pops

1 stamina, 3 trained pace pops and a general pm. Nev Bruce popping in pace the main one. Form continues to tank though.

10 pops (1 stamina) and 1 plop which was harmless.

2 keepers popped in defending weirdly and I guess pointless.
Nice double pop on Doyle.
Bamford pointless pop in striker.....well not exactly pointless but not his main skill.
The plop was a striker dropping to 0 keeping.

Form was up overall for the first time in a while.
Youths 2 up 1 down. Bell finally hit excellent after 5 weeks at Very Good. I hope thats not an accurate talent pop......he still has a long time left.

McAtee just 2 to pop to Very Good defending, which is fast!

12 pops today most in a while. Few double pops on key players there which a bonus.
