To think you wanted to sell him when you pulled him for £1.8m :p
2025-11-27 23:17:01
Maybe one of his gloves ;)
2025-11-27 23:18:15
Those are some expensive gloves, especially for a gk these days :p
2025-11-27 23:22:07
Defo ;)
2025-11-27 23:23:18
Goalkeepers are more important than people think, especially tall agile ones ;)
2025-11-27 23:24:53
I don't disagree, I wish they could make them more valuable in the transfer market, seems silly to have a world class keeper these days worth peanuts.
2025-11-27 23:33:37
Erm no, what you meant was to have an expensive priceless GK in your squad.....who you could sell for peanuts

As far as keepers go, Stephan Lightly is the one to watch.

I sacked a divine GK last season because it was cheaper to do that than to sell him on.

Bryan McAllister, age: 33

club: Rock Bottom, country: England
value : 994 650 £
wage: 16 200 £
tragic [0] form
incredible [13] tactical discipline
height: 171 cm, weight: 69.5 kg, BMI: 23.77

formidable [11] stamina divine [17] keeper
outstanding [12] pace average [5] defender
average [5] technique average [5] playmaker
adequate [6] passing weak [4] striker

He'd be pretty much worthless too.

Even more so with that form.
2025-11-28 12:55:57
Divine form would make him worth about 5k

Agree. There often comes a point with very old players that sacking them is best. I've sacked loads i've bought for less than their weekly wage, as once they come surplus to requirements, you know you'll never even earn enough for a week's wage.

It is a bit sad about keepers, i am training mine but perhaps i ought to stop, sell, and buy a better cheap replacement to train another outfield slot.

He'll stay on board purely as he's my own junior, and as I don't have a training spot for a GK he fits the role as a backup to the number 1.

Biggest issue really with GKs really is the fact they only need 3 skills, there's not even marginal benefits to pm, tech etc. And even then, passing doesn't have to be that high. So you end up with a lot of GKs of a similar skill set.

Yeah, i'd quite like to see 1 or 2 more skill requirements required for a decent 'keeper. Perhaps PM so whether they kick it, roll it out to a defender, or kick it in the direction of a free player could be implemented.

Of course it will never happen.

Oooh competition ;)
