I posted this in the federation earlier.
I watched the match live.
I did not like our initial tactic, I feel Barnes was too wide and gave him less chance of running through.....that said he has to do better with a couple of chances he had.
The keeper kills us with dropping the ball under no pressure on his own line with their player the only one near it. Easy tap in....
In the 88th minute how is it not a red card when their defender fouls Barnes who would have been through in goal one on one?
I haven't looked at the match stats yet but they looked better than us until the end. I definitely preferred the tactic near the end.....they played with the typical low defence which then moves up quickly to get offsides, I had playing against it. I did feel Zaha was wasted in this position in the first tactic and offered nothing at times though.
A tough match, a tough loss but plenty to play for still and we can still go through imo.

Yesterday was just one game, you can get revenge next match, but also I am confident you can get that 2nd spot at least.

With Venezuela dropping points yesterday we're already in a strong position.
Was Venezuela the main threat for the top 2 places along with Germany? I just looked and they are the best ratings wise of the rest, however their tactics sucked - the attachers must have been offside so often looking at the positioning!

Yep, the other 3 (Thailand, Luxembourg and Paraguay) really shouldn't cause us any problems. So assuming we win those 6 games, 3 points against Venezuela should be enough.

Difficult to really evaluate that. Passing was poor, finishing was wasteful, I don't think anyone had a particularly good game.

6 goes from 18 chances I guess is not particularly great but I haven't seen the actual match. In real life though it's probably seen as decent?
His numbers are ok but there was a lot of shooting from distance, from everyone. Passing from the midfield and wings didn't provide much. I think form is causing issues.

Probably the ideal result for us. This is as bad as I've seen Germany play and they should have lost but the Venezuelan keeper pulled an Ellard and punched the ball into his own net. Doesn't really change anything regarding Venezuela and us but it means Germany are back in our range.

They have a very good manager but that formation looked like 3 ideas stitched together that didn't work. Totally disjointed.
