Subject: Season 71

I'm so annoyed with my players. The formation worked pretty well but my strikers were wasteful and my defenders were a joke.

It happens.......has happened to me a huge amount this season.

FC Barstable - Eudaimonia FC 0:19

So I'm guessing Barstable put out their juniors.

COLNE FC - Shakespeare 2:11

Won 4-2 at home to Rockbottom, my keeper did well tbh and the stats probably don’t reflect the game from how I watched it. Fully maximised training for the week which is great. I’d have liked a bigger crowd but my fans are ironically depressed. lol

Some managers are really struggling now that the season is ending ;)

You did the damage early doors. Even with a win Weds a fair chance I'll be in the relegation playoff spot this season, which is always a lottery.

I think you'll be fine. Next season will be fun for me......my trainees are very young now contrary to what you said, that means I either go for a cup run and struggle in the league or go as strong as I can in the league........

All it takes is an injury or 2, red cards etc and an "easy" playoff can be lost. Plus it's highly likely all 3 playoff sides will be very recent prem teams so not easy games at all.

True, I am half of a mind to drop myself and have a season or 2 in II while my young trainees get better, we will see.

I wouldn’t really recommend doing that. Your fan club will drop drastically and that will directly affect your finances. On top of that, your matchday ticket income will also be very low. I know what I’m talking about because I went through the same thing myself – rebuilding my fan base now is a slow and painful process. Better to train your youngsters as much as you can while still trying to win as many games as possible.

Ok thanks I will take that into account. :)

As to the crowds im not so sure look at colne anfield and Timisoara they all have 35k+ crowds on their games sponsorship is not that much different either i lost most of my matches this season but some games i didnt have even 20k spectators so i dont think u are that much worse in div 2 biggest downside i think is the coaches retiring and that could be really costly.
2025-09-08 19:55:57
If you've got coaches over 60, intentionally relegating could be a disaster
2025-09-08 22:01:37
I didn't think about the coaches, I am quite lucky as I only have 1 coach at 60 and the rest very young........I guess I will try to stay as high in the Prem as I can then ;)

When I was last relegated, all my over 60 coaches put in for retirement. So a very valid point as getting replacements is very much a lottery.
