Subject: Season 72
I'd say a good tactic can make up about 5 points on an average one and 10 against something pretty bad. Anything past that and it becomes very difficult.
A good example of default tactics not working is Kingsway - they have always used default and at times had really high rated sides but never really achieved what the player strength should have. I would say a 10 ratings gap can be beaten if against a default with good tactics.
Norbert Sztaba just recovered from an injury and started today’s match. After a few minutes, another injury — 18 more days out. A red card in the cup too, so the bad streak continues :P
That really was what I had last season, it’s so frustrating…….
Won 4-0 vs Rockbottom….deserved win. No injuries which is good news.

I lost 3-5 in a game I felt I had the better chances. I just lost to better strikers at the end of the day.
He scored a penalty which didn't help.

3 losses on the bounce. Heading towards relegation zone now. Hardly a surprise.
I may have lost 2-1 tonight, but I won 2-0 on injuries, so there! Key players join the injury list, but trainees got extra training, so there again!! Yon can't ruin my night.
Can't see a win anytime soon! Its gonna take a miracle to stay up, now. Well, it was always a huge challenge without injuries to key players!

They got a point last night. Turns out all you need is a goalkeeper and a striker waiting for a defensive mistake. And a very old squad, of course.

These days my squad is getting old, I am a bit hamstrung by money and I cannot afford to replace the like for like quality of my older players with younger. I do however have some very nice young trainees and will be making changes at some stage. My crowds this season have awful though.

I don't really have a plan. Gathered together some young(ish) players and, so far, they give me some Thursday morning satisfaction with their pops. I'll take it, and hopefully something good is going to come out of this.
That's how I've been with the game for years, but I actually made a new tactic for my last game. Actually getting a bit addicted to the game again.

Ideally I’d like some 28 yr olds to replace my current older players but they go for crazy money. It did take me ages to get some decent trainees though as my youth school literally turned dormant for seasons. That affected me financially pretty badly too……so I am in a situation of pretty much rebuilding whilst trying to stay competitive. I’m enjoying it though, and Thursdays have become much more enjoyable again.

Last round the Prem got 69.4 average rating. Best Division 2 (2.03) has 56.9 average rating. The other two have 55 (2.02) and 53.6 (2.01)
It's never been such a big gap.
As a positive, all 3 Division 2 series are becoming more poised. And some teams that were no more than perpetual yo-yos between 3rd and 2nd, now seem to be well established and achieving higher ratings. Yet, the old squads are still the thing. Which, honestly, is hard to understand when playing in Division 2. My first squad is second youngest in my division with an average of 25 years old!
With all these said, I have no ambition of winning the league and going up. I could do it just by adding 1 (one) player to the squad. That's how easy it'd be. However, it'd be pointless and the fun will be ruined. Like nothis said, Thursdays are the best. I'll have that instead.
