Subject: Season 72

2025-10-27 19:21:18
Last round the Prem got 69.4 average rating. Best Division 2 (2.03) has 56.9 average rating. The other two have 55 (2.02) and 53.6 (2.01)

It's never been such a big gap.

As a positive, all 3 Division 2 series are becoming more poised. And some teams that were no more than perpetual yo-yos between 3rd and 2nd, now seem to be well established and achieving higher ratings. Yet, the old squads are still the thing. Which, honestly, is hard to understand when playing in Division 2. My first squad is second youngest in my division with an average of 25 years old!

With all these said, I have no ambition of winning the league and going up. I could do it just by adding 1 (one) player to the squad. That's how easy it'd be. However, it'd be pointless and the fun will be ruined. Like nothis said, Thursdays are the best. I'll have that instead.

2:1 has been decimated by teams rebuilding. Thistle, Barstable, Polska and Eudaimonia all sold off huge (or all) parts of their squad.

That's another conversation, the way some users "rebuild" their teams by burning everything and starting again from virtually zero. If you ask me, it's daft. I too sold (as I did every season) all my older (and best) players and I will do it for as long as I am active on here. It's one of the reasons I never get to break through. I repeat, one of the reasons. I am sure I have enough "followers" lined up to mention a few more reasons. But I don't really see the point of keeping players that don't develop anymore. Ok, the argument would be that they give you that level of experience that any squad needs. And the way this game engine is build, it's a very fair point. I experienced this last night. But maybe the game engine should be looked at. Because it's getting ridiculous the level of performance some 35+ players put in.

I agree with basically everything you said. Nothing will be done though as you'd have to rebuild the game from scratch, and they can't even fix simple code.

I don't have any 35 + players?

Do I need some?

Finally got my laptop working and connected it to the TV. Yeah, this is much better than sitting at the desktop.

I have an AIO PC with a 27 inch monitor :P

The TV screen is usually playing cartoons for my dog, he loves to watch them all day long FFS

Thats a 50inch tv (though you'd never guess from that photo). I also have a 2m wide projector in my bedroom but it doesn't like the laptop so it's mostly used for the SNES mini.

I can see a 45yo player :P

I've probably got too many over 30s. That being said, some I've had a long time!

I've had a projector built in the ceiling when I redecorated before one of the recent world cup tournaments so I can watch more than one game by splitting the image (projecting from the computer). Haven't used it since. I think one night, wife and daughters and my granddaughter had a movie night and that was it. I completely forgot about it until you mentioned it.

That's admirable, as they say, a player is not just for Christmas...

I wonder if some teams burn and start again as an efficient way to deal with upset fans - as once you’re below expectations the fans cant get much grumpier?

I dont burn but have been considering it.

I meant to refresh my team 2 seasons ago but had a strong run and so tried to get into prem for sh1ts and giggles.

2026 has been a challenge irl - just got back from another long weekend dealing with family issues last night- lucky to find time to log in at all. Led me to train 26yos who are not NT level which is madness but my YT pulls have been woeful for the last 2 seasons and I need time to invest in a refresh via the transfer market - and you dont do that lightly. My team frankly beneath the serene “top of the league” position is a total mess.

I am not sure it would be good for me to try a start again fully team wise. I fear the finances would capitulate. I was training 27 yr old last season and die severe injury issues at times 28,29 and even one week a 30 yr old. I literally had no options. Like yourself I didn’t have anything from the youth school, then my luck there changed and I managed to bring some in and buy a couple given a little more time on the game.

I do feel the games finances have changed and I’ve gone from making a profit yearly to pretty much breaking even this season and that’s not good. Crowds are too low given this is the strongest most competitive I’ve seen the Premiership.

I hope things improve IRL Forestman. ;)
