Subject: Season 74

New season, what are your hopes and aims for this season?

Mine is to be top 2/3. Get a good cup run....but main aim is hopefully to get good training for my youngsters, I hope to maybe have 4/5 in the England u21 team this season or next.

Avoid a playoff, not get as far in the cup and probably not be that bothered about results in the international cup.

I'm aiming to play with 8 English players, one 22 Yr old the rest under 21....prob take a kick in but hope to watch them improve as the season goes on....
Will definitely use 7 but aiming for 8

Get out of this bloody division, promote in the international cup. Should just about be strong enough to do both but more likely it'll be another playoff defeat as I don't think I can stop Stiffs winning the league.

Rebuilding season for me so I doubt I will be able to gain promotion back to the Prem. The main aim is to shore up the club finances and develop some young English players.
I must say Div 11.01 does look stacked this season so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Should be fun.

The thing about 2:1 is most of the teams in it are still in a rebuilding mode so they're not as strong as they could be, but the potential is there for it to become monstrous. Thistle, Chuck, Eudaimonia, Squeezers, Boston, Oakley and yourself are all capable of 65+. It's kind of problem really because we kill each other and then end up with 10th from the Prem coming down and a stronger playoff team. It's a vicious cycle.

I didn't but if I get a 3rd shot at you I think it could be close. Evidently some of my players have been reading this forum and decided it was easier to stay in 2:1 for another season and train, hence the 89th minute sabotage.

Before that playoff last competitive win was 1st Feb. So form was definitely against me! Had an absolute shocker of a second half of the season.

Going try not to be in that position this season though.

Training, training, training. Hopefully, see my young English players thrive, is my goal this season! If I can get 8 homegrown players in the starting line up, too, great!!

Also, if I can hang into the div, that'll be a bonus. As Camus says, its a competitive Div2, so staying up would be an achievement.

There is no chance of promotion for my side, but if by some miracle that happened I'd just get destroyed! Fortunately, there is almost zero chance of that happening... but there is all to fight for in terms of my div2 status.

I filled it pretty well last season to be fair, I am unsure what the difference was but the season before that my crowds were terrible. Maybe they thought they'd go and watch New Bruce and then realised after a season the grass wasn't greener on the other side? ;)

If I need to adjust my stadium I will, I never intended to make it that big when I played, I just had loads of cash and thought I would waste it as I didn't think (at the time) that I would return.

You are just jealous that you can't put out a squad entirely from your junior school.

Will be doing exactly that in one of my friendlies after Thurs.

I imagine we will be around the playoffs to mid table. The focus is definitely on training and testing a few things out , but by clearing out 80% of the first team i imagine we will start slow and get better over the course of the season. The international cup will be a blood bath, not getting relegated out our group and selling most of the team probably doesn’t bode too well for that..

I'm looking to finish 3rd again ideally. Not ready for the Prem for sure. I might prioritise the cup and maybe even the International thing. But I remembered you kinda need bigger squads.

Ah well. Just hoping to get a nice new trainee as so e of mine are getting old now.

Nobody decent got promoted in to our division, and everyone who faced a relegation playoff won.
