Hi
I don't know how should I set my players position with the ball in edit tactic
I have a hypothesis that:
Attacking players (Attacking MID and DEF) usually need to control and dribble the ball, so I put attacking players stick to the ball (his body is shaded by the white ball)
Defending players (DEF and Defensive MID) usually have to approach from downside and tackle the ball so I put Defending players behind the ball for 1 move ( the lowest distance that I can move a player behind the ball)
Is it a dumb or okay idea? Please give me some advice
Thank you so much :)

It sounds ok, but im no expert on tactics. is it working? are you winning matches? untill you start losing or feel like, your team should be doing better, then i would start changing the tactic. the best way to learn about tactics is just getting stuck in. watch all your games and see what you could of changed, in the game your watching, to change the result of an missed chance, or poor defense positioning. everyone has different opinions on tactics, the best way is just learning yourself.
It's always worth changing position based on opposing players and how they line up as well as where the ball will be. Keep in mind the general defence, midfield, and attack lines e.g. don't move your defenders up to the edge of the opponent's box when in possession in the opponent's area; don't move your strikers all the way back when you're defending in your own box - leave then near the half-way line at least so they're able to counter attack.
Bear in mind that when you set up tactics; if you're in possession your players move to the square in advance of the one where the ball is. Vice versa, if the opponent is in possession the players move to the one below the one where the ball is.
