we've just had a 1 second power cut, which has blown up my sky+ box. It won't switch on now - just sits with the red light on :(

Switched it off at the plug yet?

power it down and unplug it and wait a bit. It might not be dead...

That has happened to our box before, but if you unplug it at the mains and boot it back up, it should stay with the red light on for about 30 minutes and then turn on properly.
