I've been in Prague all week; it was wet, windy and full of driving sleety goodness. Of course, it's great to get back to sunny England.

How did the HT boozers tend to work?

Were they usually based arounds someones home, or was a place picked and everyone congregated to that place.

I think London should be ruled out as a place to go because it isn't exactly kind on the wallet. Assuming this thing will be in a remotely nearby location (I'm not going to travel to Scotland!), I'd be happy to stay in a hotel to avoid house cramping etc.

Ideally you would want somewhere sort of central england with good train connections.

HT boozers were spread around the country, no hard and fast rule, it's more about who's enthusiastic enough to organise one and make all the arrangements - also, over time, once people get to know each other then the people who live near each other tend to meet up separately, so you'd get one lot of people going to Manchester and one lot in London, and a few who'd go to both - normally a couple of people will let people stop over or otherwise people would kip in hotels or with relatives, or they'd live nearby anyway and go back home.

I sorted one out a few years back in Nottingham and most people stayed at the Park Plaza in the centre of town, and when I lived in London there were a few meet-ups there I went to as it was easy to get to; and a load of us ended up playing football every week in Green Park (they still do it now). Other ones were in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, some bloke's field where a load of people went camping... I'm sure there have been loads more, and some of the people from the boozer fed go off on a foreign boozer each year; not sure they've been to Barbados yet though..

At a pinch, I don't mind if people want to stop at mine in Nottingham if we end up deciding to have one up here; my house is pretty much 2 up 2 down so it'll be a bit cramped, although Woppa's night-time rape-fest will be quicker that way I guess. I'm equally happy driving/training it somewhere else and kipping in a Travelodge unless it's not absolutely miles away and going to take half a day to get to. Either way, there's time to figure all this out if it's not going to be until later on next year.

I'd be up for this. I seem to see a scary amount of regular users on here related to Oxford or Nottingham.

I live in Oxford, so that would be the obvious decision for me, but it is vaguely central and the connections are very good so it would be a good decision all round.

I am in Nottingham quite frequently seeing my brother (who incidentally i think has been to previous meetings) so i could do Notts too.

Depends if you guys prefer to stand in vomit or be shot at, i guess.
