Subject: Sokker boozer?
Oxford. Come on you mongs, it's all laid out earlier in the thread.
I have to admit, the Jim is right on this one! This has already been sorted just aboot!
there are 8 pages to trawl through.
Next thing, you're going to tell us that we have to get to oxford by ourselves?!
I need to get the green slip authorised and stamped by my wife. Assuming all OK, I'll be up for it.

(There’s no escaping these bleeming Israelis ;-) )
But if I may gentlemen, a word of advice and dismay at your inapt attempts to organise a Sokker meet’ i.e. you’re Sokker Boozer!
First, allow me to be surprised at the meagre amount of people interested in attending the event. With such a large English community 648 (to date) only 12 show any interest. This represents 1.85% of your community and either lack of interest or poor event planning. I can truthfully understand those who won’t make the effort to travel to Oxford or any other location just for a social drink… even for the added benefit of watching ‘grubbage’ getting wasted on half a pint of shandy.
Second, organise some sort of plan which offers slightly more in way of ‘a programme’… During the last 8 months we (here in Israel) had two events, which included; an overnight stay of drinking and video gaming, Saturday morning game of footie for a couple of hours on a full sized pitch, then followed by a BBQ. We even had an (Israeli) premiership team former coach invited, though a family matter had him cancel at the last minute (he will show up next time). Thus if you all chip in, financially wise, the organiser might be more inclined to set up the necessary entertainment.
Third, for the purpose of gathering momentum in the forums, you need to advertise more often with all the details as you did here above by forestman. A bit more pizazz in the post will surely attract a few more people an/or push to place more pressure on their spouses…
In general, I wish you all luck in organising this event… may it be a memorable one!
…and I’m not just talking about the following headache :)

We'll play it by ear & sort out the social entertainment after 8 pints.
P.S. I'll ask Avram Grant if he wants to come too.

So far, our entertainment consists of Woppa volunteering to be dangled in the Thames upside down because it tastes of rum.
I think this is now the probable reason he isn't coming.

1.85%?
Surely that is way more than is interested in your opinion, Rog?

Of which I'd say 300+ have only been on the game for a matter of weeks, after the original plan had been made, and most of which never frequent the forums. Then there is the fact that there are a lot of U18's in SK england user wise.
also you obviously show a lack of knowledge about Englishmen if you think we need more than just booze for entertainment. :)
I'm sure come the end of March there will be a few who go.

As someone who worked behind the bar and served drinks to Englishmen for 3 years... AND in Oxford... I'm sorely tempted to answer this, but out of respect for the 1.85% who have better sense than jaize in reading between my lines and understanding that my intentions were only good, I'll reserve them for now!
I vote for accomodation that your company pay for it under client entertainment, 5 star (or nearest to it in Oxford!) of course.

I am not sure I can swing that... we shall see closer to the time. Gift horse and all that!
