Subject: Paul Robinson in goal then?
Well, you seem to specialise in recruiting failed international managers.
McCarthy and Hoddle did decent jobs in their NT stints.
I'm not old enough to remember Taylor, although he has set us up very nicely youth academy wise.

So, McClaren after McCarthy "fails you again" ?
yes...
Cheds a good player, should get you some goals!

How come everybody knows about Cheds ? He was kicking a ball about in the playground only last week !
When you're playing in the reserves you get noticed, but not talked about, as soon as he moves to a place he may actually get some recognition(insert joke), I feel I have to say he's a good player, so that when he proves it I can say I was right.
Yes, but he's a Man City reserve, how on earth have you heard about him ? The Wales France match ? Because we agreed his loan just before it. Sven talked to Roeder and said "the deals still on, but the price has tripled". Oh how Glenn laughed...
first time I've seen him play, but some Man city fans have liked him for a while, that's where I've heard of him. like Liam hughes at wolves, little will know he's scoring for fun in the reserves.
well that's just odd with hughes, no i didn't know he was being loaned out when I posted that.
This is the reason for Croatia's win! [yipi]

I did watch that game and believe me, if the russian promised mercedes for croatia players in that game too, the pitch could be without grass, and croatian players would play the game of their lives ayway ^^
This man's a genious! [:D]

Ah.... the goalkeeper's curse against Croatia, and the illusive bounce. When I read that in the newspapers over hear I thought, "Serve's 'em right." I support England internationally, and there is a reason for my comment.
Who, in their right mind, puts a goalkeeper on their competetive debut in the most crucial match of the qualifying campain? David James was clearly the best option.
All goalkeepers make mistakes, and that seems to happen to often in the case of your national team. But if you put a fresh goalkeeper in between the posts in an important match like that, you're asking for it. I always refuse to have a go at keeper's for a mistake like that because I've been in situations like that before as well. The reason for the blunder was Carson's inexperience.
If a midfielder/striker make a small mistake, it often doesn't affect the game too much. But if one small thing isn't right when you're goalkeeping, then usually a goal is scored.
England are alway's having the following problems:
1. No stable coaching.
2. Goalkeeper rotation.
3. Lack of goalkeeper technique.
4. Constant injuries.
5. Dodgy pitches.
6. Poor team chemistry.
7. Cheats. (England v. Argentina. Hand of God. Portugal's acrobatics, etc.)
It is a painful loss for England, but maybe it's for the better. It will bring the players down to Earth. A lot of attitudes need to be changed in that squad. And we've also proved that David Beckham is still a legend, and that the squad won't function properly without Terry.
Now England are in a player/management crisis. And it has to be fixed.... fast.

I agree with you, but the whole team didnt show anything except Beckhams superb passing, but you got unfair penalty, so maybe you have some sort of excuse on poor Carsson, but we always have to play against the ref, besides what about all other poor games England played in the group, if you cant win againsst Israel and Macedonia, honestly you dont deserve to play in Euro.
Classy that the Engerlund "fans" are booing all the players that contributed to not qualifying.
Gerrard responded with a MoM performance against the Geordies (would they have booed Owen?). After 19 minutes they turned on their own players. Could have been 6-0 if Torres had taken half of his chances.
Derby "fans" booed Cole, Wright-Philips, Lampard and another (didn't watch long enough to see who it was).
I haven't watched anything else. That's two teams that haven't contributed to the national team from their youth setup. What gives the fans such a high moral ground?
With support like that, they don't deserve to qualify.
England expects. That's the problem.
