Go and watch "The Full Monty" - that'll teach you about sheffielders ;)
see this
Sheff Uni is a good uni.
Sheff is a good student city, good "working class" industrial British city. Home to 2 football clubs with a long history. It's not the most affluent place, but is fine.

Sheffield is having a massive sum of money invested in it, for those who go regulary you can't help but notice the amount of cranes and contruction work dotted about the city.
as a city and an economy it is very much on the up and in a few years time it will be pretty much what you expect a modern city far from it's drabness of 10 years ago.
best thing about sheffield is that Leeds is only a short trip away :D

Sheffield rocks, it is a little battle-scarred from Thatchers' claws granted, but it will be a jewel when they have regenerated it fully.
the most important thing is to decide do you think westham should have been relegated/fined/burnt to the ground... or do you think that justice was served and certain clubs should stop with the constant crying, grow a sack, and drop some balls into it...
then you will have chosen your team and with it your mates, your pubs, your clubs, and your potential totty.

its great so far, there are so many things to do.. lots of clubs, bars... everyone is very friendly so far
and it feels like its a city of students, there are millions of them and that feels great.
I also was a bit stunned when I found out that strong drinks like vodka are even cheaper than in Lithuanian clubs
And it feels strange when everyone greets you with "how are you doin'?" or "you alright mate?" or smth like that, it's a question and I just feel like I should answer it, but I think that I dont. I'm not used to it [:
And i sometimes have some problems in understanding what they are trying to say to me, but i think I'll get used to it in no time, because its not the words that I don't understand, I just can't hear it [:

It is also true that the more vodka they drink the less you will understand... or is that the more vodka you drink the less you will understand...?
Anyway, welcome to our boring and totally normal country.

also buy a flat cap and a ferret or two to mix in properly.
Have you been to corporation yet?
Double vodka used to be £1, its a total dive and you'll get Aids from most of the birds, buts its cheap.
Where you living?

I think its 2 * 35, but its a been a few years. The vodka bottles were 2 litre jobbies without any labels, so could well have been paint stripper. The offer was "double and a mixer for a £1" but the mixers actually did more damage to your guts than the vodka. I think it was some form of iron-bru or warm unbranded coke.
No I havent [: Cheap Aids? sounds good [:
I'm living in Endcliffe Vale Flats in Endcliffe Vilage

I went to Halloween party at uni today, and it was quite good, there were like 3k people there and it was really crowded near the stage. One guy spilled some drink on another and he was beaten up by 3 guys (not just for spillage, I think he said something too), and the funny thing is that his face was covered with fake and real blood after it [:. But actually I was quite shocked as I didnt expect that it could happen in UK, not in the middle of the crowd, I thought it was only possible in Lithuania.
Nah; people here are as bad as anyone else. I remember when I was at uni staggering home one night walking back; talking to another guy from the uni night I'd been at - when we got about a mile down the road he lamped me with no warning - all his mates behind us then came running round the corner and I got a proper kicking; but they didn't get my wallet. I was really shocked that other students would try and mug fellow students. I got saved that night by a ropey old scouse whore across the road who started hollering that she'd phoned the police... As that spot was on my daily walk to/from uni too; I used to walk along a trail of my own blood and past a nasty big stain on the pavement each morning/afternoon. Yay!
my wife sums up the difference between sheffield and surrey as:
in sheffield people are more friendly during the day, but more likely to beat you up by night.
tis true ;)
