I consider someones nationality by the way how well he is adapted in country that he lives, and how well he knows the customs, language etc etc, so you are saying Zinedine Zidane is not french, he was born in Algerie !
It stands for Système International.
All I was saying was that unless there is a standard by which to measure something against another thing, it is all conjecture.

never said there was, theres just a difference between adopting a country, and being born/raised in a country.
the fact that you have more proffesional players then we have whole population speaks for itself.
lets say 80% of players in teams from conference upwards are english, each squad at about 30?
30*80%=24
24(english players/proffessional club)*114(estimated professional clubs)=2736.
Population of croatia ~2736

by your logic how many proffesionaly players Germany have ? if you use that math ?
Go to the official web page of English football federation and check there!
I know that Germany has over 4million proffesionaly players, you can check the data,
or you dont know the term of what proffesional players is :)

professional players are ones signed up to a full-time footballing contract, there are part-timers(generally classes as ameteurs), and then ones that play for fun.
Kids aren't included as well they aren't pros yet.
I have only counted players that for me are English, ans signed up to a full-time playing contract.

Where's that damned wooden spoon again?

Didn't France win the world cup with no French born players on the pitch?
No, i'm pretty sure petit, lizarazu, barthez e.t.c. were french born but the vast majority of that side were immigrants!
Are you seriously suggesting i'm racist because I happened to point out that one of your player was born in Brazil and has Brazilian parents??
I think I was making a perfectly fair point, that some Brazilian players, Brazilian by birth and parentage (the two things that give you nationality at birth), become national players for other countries. This is a point that has been raised recently and I consider it a worthwhile one. Should it be allowed as, before moving, the players have no links with the country they are playing internationally for?
I, for one, have no problems with it as people can move about and change nationalities as they please (and I definately have no problems with a few Brazilians coming over here to play for the national side ;) ).
And before you go slinging accusations around you should think a little. You have no idea where I come from, what nationality I am (despite the fact I am on the English boards, I am (technically) by parentage a foreigner), or for that matter anything about me. Prejudice of english fans as mindless and racist is a fault that many people have, I am just disappointed that some, a very small minority, on this wonderful game have such outdated opinions.
And I know the names, Corluka and Krancjar, but didn't know they were Croat. I happen to be an avid fan of the Premiership and, while not being able to name evey single player and their nationality off the top of my head, do have a reasonable knowledge of the league.
As for your "point" afterwards,
'the fact that you have more proffesional players then we have whole population speaks for itself.'
According to wikipedia (not the most reliable source but acurate enough for this comparison) Croatia has a population of 4,493,312, whereas england has a population of 50,714,000. This would mean that approximately 8% of our entire population are professional footballers. This (at even 50 players a team) would give england an amazing 89,867 teams. Quod erat demonstrandum.
A quote comes to mind now that seems quite apt:
"All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated and well supported in logic and argument than others." - Douglas Adams
