toonmac [del] to All
who next for the job that doesnt last long? i say get shearer in now as at least he will be given a fair crack at it
2008-01-09 19:21:22
Has he actually gone? I can't reiterate how disappointing this is to the game that was once called football.

If Shearer does come in what makes you think he will be given a fair crack?

Sam did brilliantly at Bolton and i bet he feels a bit of a gluff now for leaving them, but there is no justice in ditching him.

Jose Mourinho?
2008-01-09 19:22:40
yeah he gone,just been announced
2008-01-09 19:27:08
who will want to come is the ? really bad decision by newcastle in my opinion to get rid of sam so early, with shearer the fans will be more patient i expect with him being a bit of a hero in these parts
2008-01-09 19:28:18
It's not the fans that do the sacking, though.
2008-01-09 19:36:02
the fans have put the pressure on the board with there chants of you dont know what your doing and were shit and we know we are directed at big sam,,many fans havent wanted sam here from the start and looks like ashley and mort have taken note and got rid for that reason, was only about 10 days ago mort says sams job was safe
2008-01-09 19:39:05
Thing is, the "fans" wont be happy until Shearer is in charge, we all know that every manager will be hounded out until he gets the job, and most of think that he'll do a crap job.

I hope he gets it and fails miserably(shearer) because only then will most newcastle fans realise, their club isn't all that.

i actually think he would do a fair job as he understands what it means to pull on a black n white shirt and wear it with pride so would get players who want to play with passion, think keegan and him together alongside would be awesome, like man utd set up
2008-01-09 20:37:09
Tsk tsk. Making me edit your post!

I think if Allardyce was given the chance he would have done a good job at Newcastle. 11th isn't that bad.
2008-01-09 20:51:53
think he would of eventually also given the time, however keep playing players out of position and his style of play didnt help him as the fans want to see entertaining attacking passing football not long ball tactics that did not work with attackers that are less than 6 foot
2008-01-09 21:00:25
Came as a bit of shock to me, i don't think it is the best decision newcastle every made :P
2008-01-09 21:29:30
I reckon Shearer will be a crap manager. He's got about as much imagination as a table. Newcastle are welcome to him.
2008-01-09 21:42:18
in the last half hour harry redknapp has gone from 12/5 second favourite for the job to 5/6 on favourite with paddy power, shearer now 2nd fav.. interesting
2008-01-09 21:50:01
Redknapp would be mad to leave Portsmouth for Newcastle.
2008-01-09 21:54:21
Cheers Gibby.

And you are right. People need more time to gel. It is sad that accountants get to decide whether a team not getting to the cash-cow competitions has a culpable manager or not.
