Cheers Gibby.
And you are right. People need more time to gel. It is sad that accountants get to decide whether a team not getting to the cash-cow competitions has a culpable manager or not.

I think you only need to look at Man Utd and Crewe to see how stability can really benefit a team. Crewe punched miles above their weight with Dario Gradi at the helm for the 20 years or so he had (I think he has stepped down now though).
Also the guy has turned down jobs because they were too far from where he lived, Newcastle is a lot further than those. Even when he was out of a job he refused to travel or uproot. And Pompey have more money than Newcastle, he has built a fantastic side, they are challenging for Europe, I could go on. Unless they know something we don't, which is usually the case, I can't see 'Arry going there.
wonders why the sudden drop in odds as thought 12/5 was short odds to start with, maybe its already done deal as seemed odd to get rid of sam so quick
Totally agree, he is a class manager.
Don't forget he went from Pompey to Soton and back to Pompey!
Wikipedia rocks, i never knew this: In June 1990, whilst watching the World Cup in Italy, Redknapp was involved in a car crash with Bournemouth's managing director Brian Tiler, who died along with four other people. Though Redknapp made a full recovery (apart from being permanently without a sense of smell), he became disillusioned with the lack of funds and limited resources at his disposal and resigned at the end of the 1991–92 season.

Probably because he keeps being linked to other jobs, either that or there is something we don't know.
He's director of football there, though I think it's mainly for continuitires sake, and for the academy to continue in the same vein as it has.
The whole Pompey - Southampton - Pompey thing is quite amusing really, given he went off to the rivals and sent them down, went back and propelled them to where they are now!
All sounds fishy to me - although Redknapp wouldn't know that!
One of the things that this does it put Glenn Roeders' time at Newcastle into perspective. I reckon Norwich now have a good boss who was wrongly hounded out of Newcastle for similar reasons as Big Sam. Cartman is right that the only person Newcastle fans will accept now is Shearer, and only then if he wins the first 15 games probably. Maybe they need a spell in the Championship to get their expectations back in order, it wasn't that long ago they were drifting in league 1.
I feel sorry for the back-room staff that went with Sam from Bolton to Newcastle, something like 26 of them. Will they find new jobs ? Maybe Megson will have some of them at back at Bolton, although I'm not sure he's the sports science type of bloke...

What do you mean, there's nothing wrong with his ears?
harry redknapp now 4/7 on so something is going on
Sorry mate but as a West Ham fan you are talking deluded ramblings now about Roeder. ;)
