Yeah sorry mate.......It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog....I should be sleeping like a log.
It was a fantastic result in the end, but a reality check is needed imo, Harmison has been taking wickets for fun and did so in the warm up match against the Aussies. Why is he not in the team, stupid decision for me.
Also the batsmen need to step up to the plate.

Why is he not in the team
You saw the first ball of the last ashes series, right? Flintoff, at second slip ended up with it in his spade-like hands. If we could guarantee that that particular Harmy wasn't the one getting picked, then I'd be right behind you. But we can't. He's like a modern day Devon Malcolm. Sprays it all over, and that's not good enough when you've got a three man seam attack, one of whom is the just-back-from-injury-and-may-break-down-again Flintoff.
Plus...Who'd you have dropped?
Broad? Seems a little harsh, although he does need to take a wicket or two here and there. Being "an intelligent cricketer" isn't enough to get you a spot in a test team, in my view. Maybe he could be dropped after being largely ineffectual at Sophia Gardens.
Anderson? No way he leads England's attack these days.
Flintoff? No.
Swann? First choice spinner, so a no go.
Monty? Maybe, but it seems the selectors wanted two spinners. Looked a good call when we thought we'd be bowling last, too.
And don't forget Onions. Bowled very well in his debut test, I think this season he's the county game's leading wicket taker and exponent of 5 wickets in an innings, and should be first guy in if England revert to a four man seam attack (with one spinner) or in the case of an injury to Freddy, Anderson or Broad.

You have a point, but Harmison has got an average this season of just 19.4 bowling wise and clearly is on top form, he also got 6 wickets against the Aussies in warm up. Add to that Flintoff has another sore knee (sigh).
My opinion after watching the last test is to add Harmison for Panesar who looks a pale comparison of the bowler he was a year or so ago. Plus Harmison is a bit better at batting than Panesar and in the field too. Thats my initial thought for changing anyway.
Harmison was having a dip in 2007.....but has responded well to that imo.
With regards to Broad I think he looks a better batter than bowler right now, maybe I am being a bit harsh. In reality though he looks more secure than some of our so called top order, therefore for me he stays.
I have not seen enough of Onions to judge him, however if hes a good bowler and he could pose problems to the aussies give him a go.
The biggest worry for me is taking wickets which we really looked toothless in over the last test.
If Flintoff is out then Harmison must come in. Panesar should come out no matter what happens imo as Lords is a pacier wicket and will not spin as much. Swann deserves his place.

adil rashid is a better spinner than panesar, he is a better batsman than panesar and it a better fielder. soif they are looking to replace him with a spinner, there they go. ;)
give harmy a go i agree, he may be slightly expensive econamy but e gats wickets.

The aussies score quickly anyway and have done so for years, thats why they win so many tests. At least an in form Harmison could take wickets and get them out. The way we beat them in 2005 was to attack them and take wickets. I have not seen enough of Rashid but I think 2 spinners is not going to work.
Sorry... me from Cardiff? Look at my team page.
Oh and I play cricket for a team so I know what I'm talking about when I say...
ENGLAND WERE VERY VERY VERY LUCKY.
And it's not because I'm a bitter welsh person, I am part english.

yeah, every ball broad bowls is a bouncer. harmy has veriation!
Seems like Onions has got a bad elbow, so it'll be Harmy in for him, I reckon, which is disappointing for me on a number of levels.
With the news that KP has had surgery and is out for 6 weeks, Bell should come in for him. A quick rejig of the batting order and I reckon we'll have:
Strauss
Cook
Bell
Colly
Bopara
Prior
Freddie
Broad
Swann
Anderson
Harmison
