Up til ten minutes ago, mine was Woo Woo (yes, a pink drink usually served in a fetching martini glass).
It's now Mount Gay and Relentless.
Which is worse?
And what is your favourite cocktail?

woo woo.. or mount gay.. tough call.. do you get a small umbrella with either of them?
Favourite cocktail - long island ice tea or mojito - both of which are genius.

Mojitos rock. I had one of those and a caiprinha this weekend, after my girlfriend said "I'm off outside for a cigarette...get two cocktails while I'm gone." I knew damn well she likes neither of those :)
Well if there is no pints going then mine is a TVR.
The full on experience is 6 of these.

While there's no accounting for some tastes, especially woppa's... during my few years working behind the bar in Oxford I have encountered worse! However, every barman who respects him/herself after a few years, creates a signature drink and since at least some people here seek new experiences here's mine.
It is called Beancoholics® and here's how you make it:
In a tall glass
One full spoon of whole coffee beans (as fresh as possible)
Crushed ice to the brim
One shot Martini Bianco
Now carefully fill the glass with Ginger Ale (for women) or Tonic (for men)
[Try not to upset the ice so that the coffee beans do not float above it)
Top carefully with a tea spoon one shot of Southern Comfort
Stick a straw in it! (no umbrellas!)
Enjoy
:)

Bizarrely Rog, that actually doesn't sound grim!
I will still opt for a caipirinha made by me to a secret (ish) recipe taught to me by a mad old lady in Brasil. Failing that a G&T goes down a treat.
I have just noticed I have 2 bottles of Bombay Sapphire on my desk. Hmmmm. Looks as though some of the suppliers have noticed my weakness...

Sounds good, what's in it ?

Basically you take some sugar, lime juice and cachaça and mix it up before pouring over crushed ice. A caipiroska is one made from vodka instead of cachaça.
I make it like this.
get a highball glass or similar. The more hardened the drinker, the smaller the glass.
Put in about half a lime and 2 spoons of dark brown sugar. Usually over here it is muscavado but I find that adds too much of a molasses taste.
Muddle it up - basically bash it together with a wooden spoon handle. You can buy a muddler if you have your own bar, it is basially a wooden spoon with the spoon bit cut off.
fill with crushed ice. I make mine by wrapping one of those ice cube bags you fill under the tap in a tea towel and walloping it with a rolling pin/ brick.
Pour over about a double of cachaça. I use VAT 69 or Beija-flor brands but anything over here is kosher.
Stir with straw and drink. Yummy on a warm summer's evening, should we ever get one.

Incidently Beija-flor is portuguese for humming bird and means flower kiss - I like that.
I get plenty of "warm summer's evenings" here... I guess it's time to go and buy a couple of cachaça bottles :)
Thanks & Cheers

coffee? no, that was Rog's drink. Do keep up dear boy!
I guess the mere talk of alcohol made him lose touch with reality. I remember those addicted to Kalibre beer (or whatever it was called in those days...)

I agree entirely.
I agree entirely.
The Long Island ice tea is a bit of a yobo-come-yuppie drink and Mojito is just a traditional alci-lemonade. What about real drinks? No one here drinks anything without an umbrella in it? You know, some alcoholic beverages were meant to be drank withOUT pop or soda or fizz or grenadine...
A pure double shot of Ardbeg, no ice or soda, in a tulip shaped glass is a supreme experience.
A Koonawara region, ripe Cabernet is perfect tongue coater for a meaty dinner.
A high grade Armagnac and accompanying cigar can make an evening all worth while.
No need for Vodka-Red-Bull/toilet-cleaner taste!
