Or a big hammer.
2008-04-17 12:30:05
yep, that would also work - an extra 20k worth of damage, you say ? Can't be that difficult to arrange.

I'd prefer pure vodka to be honest :)
2008-04-18 17:42:52
Polish? Vodka?

You cliche! ;-)
2008-04-18 20:14:28
Pfff :P
At least we don't drink vodka made from red mice ;] (whiskey was described like that in one of best Polish early comedies ;))

I hope you drink a good Polish brand!

Which do you recommend? I can pop up the Polish Deli in Streatham and get some.

Żubrówka is classic, though it's like cigarettes - some love it, some hate it. It has one blade of grass inside, and a little bit green colour. When Romanian users came to Poland and tried it - there were no left bottles in the shop when they left. :)

What's more....Starogardzka ;) one of the cheapest, we're joking that it's gregs' favourite. :D

Absolwent is quite ok, as well as Sobieski is.

I personally hate Bols, although I don't have a slightest idea whether it is Polish or not. :)

Bols is Dutch and you are right, it is wrong.

I will go and get a few of those for my collection of spirits. thanks. ;-)

Do the Poles drink Russia Vodka like the rest of the world?
2008-04-18 20:58:43
Yup, Russian vodka is quite popular. Still we prefer our Polish vodka's - you know what is the attitude of Polish people towards Germans or Russians...:(

Hm...when you say Russian vodka you mean produced by Russian companies, not smuggled through the border? Because I once had Finlandia in plastic bottle, smuggled from Russia...hell no, even Bols was better.
2008-04-18 21:02:38
I am guessing it might not have been authentic!

One of my minions is Polish and is always bringing me back "delights" made by mad villagers near his family. How anyone can still see there is beyond me! ;-)

Haha yeah, that's a common threat when you're visiting a little Polish village. But not only, I was on a part last week in the dorm of Warsaw polytechnic. Drinking kamikaze[yeah, I know - but I was kinda drunk already so I was able to regard unpure vodka as useful], kamikaze went out, pure one got out, and then I've got a glass of moonshine[is it US or BrE expression?]...and then another. Yeah, that was a good party for sure. I mean - I suppose it was ;)
2008-04-18 21:29:37
I admire your stamina.

Moonshine is an English word but the yankee's put it to good use with their gutrot whiskey in the 19th century. There is a bloke up the pub that makes his own, er, I suppose gin officially. It is one of the most awful things you could ever put in your mouth, but he sells lots of it...
2008-04-18 21:40:32
It's all about practice ;-) and knowing when to say stop...doesn't happen often though, actually I've never had such an idea. Odd when I now think about it. Who cares :p

How many % does it have? :) gin is quite ok for me, still...as for vodka pure is the better one, gin is much better with some add-ons. IMO of course :)
2008-04-18 21:45:00
i have had a bad experience with pure vodka

i can't stand straight vodka anymore just smelling it makes me gag now

I had that with gin after being hospitalised.

Don't worry, the thirst comes back! ;-)

Mixing vodka is a waste of time. Much better on its own.
