Ok, well my knee was probably the worst, I was very accident prone until I turned about 12, other notable mentions are: Being hit by a golf club(by my older brother), Falling over a toy, and smashing my head on the corner of the TV unit, and slicing my foot open walking in the sea.

Ok, what happened, was I was swinging across some monkey bars on Holiday in Wales, lardy dar, across I go, and I swing off....straight onto a large Bolt sticking out of the wood, it goes and cuts straight into my leg, just below the knee, but it's more than a normal cut, apparently you could see my bone(being 5 at the time, this wasn't too pleasant, though for some reason I can't remember feeling any pain). Anyway, there aren't any ambulances, so I get taken to the local medical centre in a car. woopie!

That doesn't explain that I was close to losing my leg, I owe the people that operated on me that day quite a lot really, it was 10 years later when I actually realised what they'd done.

I just need to find I photo, though I doubt any were taken tbh.

Unfortunately I don't have picture evidence, just scars of my war wound. Pictures were taken by some med students though!

The jist of it was I had practically the entire back of my left leg and left arm severely burnt, right arm minorly burnt and minor burns to the left side of my face. I avoided having a skin graft on it by the narrowest of margins, fortunately age is on my side and I tend to recover relatively quickly from that sort of thing. 3 weeks off work as a result, although treatment and redressing of the wound carried on for a good 2 months or so.

Probably about the most painful thing I have ever experienced. How did I do it? Burning stuff at the end of the garden, and deciding to use model aircraft fuel to improve the burning. Ended up with a petrol bomb style explosion. Charred all the hairs on my arm. Leg would have been fine, had it not been for my trousers catching fire.

On the minor injury side, I sliced through to my nail on my thumb not all that long ago when chopping up some pineapple. On that same day I was given the task of furniture assembly at work, and proceeded to bleed all over the furniture I was putting together.

Then there was the time I fell down some stairs and did my ankle in at the Science Museum in London.

Not forgetting the time I walked 100 miles in 4 days and ended up with somewhere in the region of 30 blisters on both feet. Took pure willpower to complete that!

I'm entering two. I'll be entering my gash (I won't be the last) and I'll be also entering a blunt trauma from my childhood. Possibly. Basically, my dad was a photographic buff in my childhood years and all photos of my family are on slides. My plan is to steal all the slides and get them onto a memory stick or whatever for his birthday next month. So, if I manage to acheive this goal, I'll have access to woppastein after smashing my head in and my face turning purple and my forehead enlarging. Anyway, that's a far better injury than my gash as it was unplanned.
I might try and get photos of my brother's arse.

I was partially drunk.. standing in the door way looking out onto the garden.. it was a very pleasant summers evening.. until the wind slammed the door on my thumb, which, due to my partially drunk status I had cunningly placed in the door frame.

There was a fairly respectable snapping sound as the door sliced through the base of my nail to bone, then ripped the flesh from the base of the nail up and off, leaving me with a hinged nail effect. And a thumb broken in 3 places. When the shock wore off it hurt. Lots.

The receptionist at casualty saying "oh god" and looking like she was going to throw up was a nice touch. They put 80 odd micro stitches in to reattach the hinged nail.. after tearing off my existing nail, which made an incredible squelchy ripping sound, which was used as a splint and stitched on.

After about a week, my thumb started to smell faintly of almonds.... so it was back to the hospital for a check up. I had a very old school style matronly nurse...who had the task of inspecting and cleaning up the wound. The dressing was pretty much glued to my thumb with blood & pus so I had to soak it for a while. Even then it hurt like hell when she was taking it off...but that was nothing compared to how much it hurt when she ripped off the nail... I managed to say

"Wait..the nails stitch...."

Before she tore it, and the associated stitches off. Then, as I cursed and blood spurted, from my thumb she followed up with;

“Stop being such a baby”

Bloody NHS.

When I was 10 or thereabouts, I had a bet with my mate that I could get to his nans' house before he did. His nan lived the other side of the park railings, which were basically spikes with a bar across them, they ran the length of the park.

I was trying to lift myself over the railings when my elbows gave way, plunging my stomach into one of them. Fortunately the railing went into muscle. My dad didn't half give me a look when I turned up at the house with blood pouring out of my stomach though.

The worst injury I have seen was to my son, he was at school and standing by a fire door, he placed his hand inside the door frame whilst talking to friends.....the said door was one of those heavy metal doors.

Then what happened was the Dinner Lady shut the door which cut off the top of his finger, luckily one thread of skin held it on, and under that one tiny thread was one of the six nerves.....basically the finger was sewn back on and that one thread of skin saved his finger, what a lucky boy!
