4th place Bristol City played 45 on 71pts with a -2 goal difference?!? that's insane! they must have had some shocking defeats. what was their worst loss? 10-0 or something?

They lost 0-6 to Ipswich...that was their worst defeat.

Browsing through their results this season it appears most of the games they won they won by 1 goal, and a lot of games they lost, they losdt by more than 1 goal.

i don't think i've ever seen a team finish so high with a negative goal difference! although they do still have next weekend to try and get into positive numbers.

It's an odd one, isn't it?

Not really sure what it would be like to be a fan...scraping many wins when you do win and getting drubbed when you lose!

Or is the manager a tactical genius?

Wolves miss the play-offs on GD, I guess 7th was an inevitable position to finish really, they don't joke that Wolves should just be given 7th at the beginning of the season for no reason.

ah just realised your league finishes today. and Bristol managed a +1 GD in the end. unlucky... but it means you could well have the wolves / blues derby next season
2008-05-04 18:20:18
Didnt they get promotion from League 1 last season?
2008-05-04 18:21:19
Yes.
2008-05-04 18:22:18
Wow and they already made the playoffs. I am proud of them.
2008-05-04 20:13:28
ahm... Bristol is a city?
2008-05-04 20:15:56
yes, it is.
2008-05-04 20:17:09
And a Rovers too.
2008-05-04 20:17:49
Didn't Roy play for Rovers?
2008-05-04 20:21:38
Yes; the one who appeared in all the adverts for a now-defunct British car company.
2008-05-04 20:21:51
I always thought Bristol was a clanking old antique type thingy, parked beneath the Severn bridge...
2008-05-04 20:22:08
Rovers are rubbish.

(Not Blackburn Rovers)
