there is also a danger that we will end up with 22 Greg Rusedskis lining up in the FA Cup final.
That would never happen - he's rubbish at football.

but perfect for the English longball game. talk about end-to-end stuff ;)
incidentally, what DID you call me in the seasonal deleted post bundle?

I didn't. I copy and pasted a story from the Daily Mash. Gibbage is Mcoi-stirring as usual...
players from home countries, in the case of the United Kingdom. I guess.
But, but, but (yes, I'm going to argue ken's point)...it is unfair on those EU players who are being denied free movement by "home players" taking their spots in English teams. Which, incidentally, is against EU law.
Yes but it's also against EU law to have humourously bent bananas.
unworkable due to EU law.
Frankly i think English football will do alot better sorting out its on problems than let fifa impose sanctions on us. get some national football academies built, have the FA protect these young players in finding clubs. reward clubs investing in English youth development.

Well said!

not going to happen now rog as Fifa have just voted to try and get this 6+5 rule passed through despite EU law.
EU law will prevail anyway... since when sports can take over everyday law? The Bosman reform is a good exemple...
These days people have more and more rights and freedom of movement how can you force teams to play with 6+5? That would would be like going years backwards...
I'm sure if you ask the clubs they wouldnt be interested either... a foreign player is usually cheaper to get and has a cheaper wage to start with, not only to talk about the raw talent...
Going 6+5 would probably lower the level of the EPL too and affect the performance of the english clubs in europe long term... I'm not against that to be fair, I'd like to see something different in CH.League next year! :)
English clubs should be forced to have proper youth school which can produce proper goods like you see in France or Portugal... that's the work of the FA to educate clubs or to develop such a system themselves... I mean if english clubs want to invest in foreign goods what stops the FA to have its own youth school to produce its national players?

i think it is good because we have no excuse to buy those mediocre foreighn players where a good home player is kept out of the team
I agree with a load of posts already on here.
The EU can Ken all over any rules FIFA try and impose if they breach existing EU law, and there's Ken all FIFA can do about it.
Blatter is a vociferously misguided ballbag and, I'm disappointed to see, Platini appears to have his head entirely up his Ken as well. So FIFA aren't exactly a stable, respected, rational focus of debate.
If there aren't enough players in the Premiership perhaps that's because they aren't good enough. I think the other thing is that, due to tv revenue, the Premiership clubs have the money to cherry-pick the best players from other leagues - ironically enough, due to the success and popularilty of the top tier of English football, it's become so well resourced that it can afford top-quality, so as a result, there are less domestic players in there as top-quality players are the tip of a pyramid and there aren't that many of them around, irrespective of nationality. If the Premiership was poorer, the bar would be set lower and there'd be more domestic players in there.
