best commentary so far... "there you see the quality of a 2 footed player" presumably as opposed to 1 footed players who are rubbish because evrytime they kick the ball they fall over

I actually haven't watched a single game so far. lol
I still do not see the Dutch winning it, however I am sure all the pundits will have them as favs after this!
Oh and don't count the Italians out, I still think they will get through this group, they are tough little blighters!

I'm a personal fan of the Italians...don't know why.
I've seen a fair few of the games so far; missed Austria-Croatia and Romania-France, but Germany look very impressive. Their passing was spot on, and Portugal look very good...and now obviously Holland, Italy were a little hard done by though.
No real surprises so far, 4 teams there that all have proven pedigree and not much between any of them.
One thing that has bugged me has been the diving though, really want to see someone's face when they get a red for diving (can you get a straight red for diving now?) but the ref's are not clamping down. On the whole the reffing has been fine but there have been a few shockers.

Diving on the continent will never change and never be cut out, neither will the bear hugs from defenders at corners. Neither should be in the game, and until they do something about it, like giving bans from Video evidence after the matches there is no incentive for the players to stop......its a shame, but we will never have an English man at the top of UEFA or FIFA.
Indeed it is a "style of play" that is unlikely to entirely be cut out, but i think the referees really could do their bit and start booking them a bit. They look bloody stupid, and if challenged a player fairly and he dived and the referee gave the decision against me i would probably punch the offender!
Personally, if i was a referee i don't think i could have any more joy than booking a pansy for throwing himself on the floor.

i would say the france - romania draw was pretty suprising, as was the fact that the dutch took the world champions apart

Romania are a good side.
Them getting a 0-0 wasn't a surprise, especially against a French side relying on the stars.
The dutch winning 3-0 though was a surprise.

And especially as Rumania turned France over in the qualification iirc .
